lol.. ever since McDonald's came out w/ the monopoly contest, I've always wanted to set up a network for trading game pieces. if anyone eats regularly at this unholy and unhealthy fast food mecca, I'll trade game pieces w/ ya if you can use them. if ppl show interest, I'll list what I got.. [Tarut: King] [Pennsylvania Railroad] [Can I Have It?] lol let's make some real cash. hahahaha, I'll split a pot w/ ya. <3 T

hehehe... so there was this one time when my brother cooked up this crazy crazy scheme with those McDonalds Monopoly pieces..... They used to put 2 free game pieces in the newspaper add the sunday before the contest started, idk of they still do.. Anyways knowing that there were two free game pieces in each newspaper... and the fact that my brother and I both used to have different newspaper delivery routes growing up... we knew about 6-7 different drop off spots where the newpaper company dropped off the bulk loads of newspapers at least 6 hours before the paperboys picked them up. So we geared up our best ninja gear and hopped in the old station wagon my brother owned.
The first stop we hit was my old pick up spot, we snagged all the bundles that had the adds in them, loaded up the back of the car and drove back to my moms garage where we unloaded and picked out all the free pieces. We then took the bundles back to the drop point to avoid detection. Ninja's in station wagons are not to be underestimated. We hit as many spots as we could before we figured we might get spotted, even going so far as to pull up to a brightly lit gas station which had a drop point. My brother needed gas anyways so as he was pumping I was covertly loading the car while avoiding the gas attendants line of sight. Upon return to the house we set to work at gathering and organizing all our booty. Of course as expected we had mulitple copies of every piece on the board excluding Board Walk, and the other rare spots that you need to complete the bigger prizes. We must have had over 500 pieces or so. We never really expected to come out on top with any crazy shit but we did get dozens of free meal prizes, including breakfast meals, and a few small cash prizes i think. I used my free stuff to take myself and my friend who drove me to school, for free Mc. D's breakfast for like a month straight.

I'd love to mock you for being such tools Rai, but that actually sounds really really fun. I LOVE the effing Monopoly game at McDonald's and I am really sad that I have stopped eating there. It hasn't been really very hard for me until now. I hate to say it, but the Monopoly game really does tempt me to eat there. I am a marketing managers wet dream.
As for the trading game pieces idea, it's a very neat idea, in concept. In practice, however, I feel it is fatally flawed. The problem is that for each of the good prizes, there is one piece that is difficult to get, take for example the red squares (Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky I believe). Let us pretend for a moment that Indiana is the difficult piece to obtain. Kentucky and Illinois will both be very easy to get, especially for people who play the game semi-regularly. Once someone has Indiana, the difficult piece to obtain, they will not trade it, they will simply keep playing until they get the remaining two common pieces. Or, for another example, let's say someone gets Boardwalk. Are they going to trade it to someone who already has Park Place in exchange for half the loot? I don't think so. They'll buy 40,000 chicken nuggets if they have to, but they'll make sure they get Park Place themselves.
I like the idea in practice, and I think it could work on some small level (such as I have 3 Connecticutt Avenue pieces, I may as well mail one to Toasty), but in the grand scheme of things, the fact that it is only one piece that is difficult to get from each group gives the possessor of that piece too much leverage.
And yes, I did just analyze the plausibility of trading McDonald's Monopoly pieces.
