Found out this old post while reading past stuff on the forum and I'd like to hear some of the "new" members' name meanings...
Grahaf: Comes from one of Squaresoft's Xenogear villains: Grahf and it was my fav character in that gr8 game... the "a" in plus of that came from the fact that I... mispelled the name while creating my char due to the fact I hadn't been playing it fora loooong time... Eventually it turned out I like this way more than the original one... it sounds better as it was like a "real name" as Graham...

After moving from Siren where my main char was called Lassik (a name I oned used in another rpg) I knew I wanted to be a THF, I also knew I was going to me a mithra this time, for the attribute bonus and better 3rd person view. I wanted to have a name that said THF. I thought about famous thfs in history or in lore, eventually comming to Ali Baba and the 40 thvs, but since my char was mithra, Ali didn't really fit. Eventually, Allybaba was born, and the world rejoiced. and amen.

Raizo was the name of my first mule from my 1st character. He was the same tarutaru I am now... you know except a mule and lvl 1 and all that.
Raizo is just a common japanese name as far as I know but I always liked it. I've named several characters in several games Raizo so when I came back to ffxi and wanted to try a different race I revived my old mule and made him No.1.

Requieas - original character now a sandorian mithra mule - name stems from requiem
Kreiger - Windhurst Elvaan mule - elvaan seems like pure melee to me and so does this name
Oneiros - Bastokan Hume mule - oneiros is an alternate name for Morpheus in Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman." Morpheus is too common a name since the matrix so I decided on Oneiros.
Undying - Galkamule in Jueno - since galka's reincarnate I chose undying as in never dying

Crumb-nickname given to me and my friend one summer working at a car wash, only white guys so i think maybe it came from "Cracker!" lol

Crumbdawg-other name i always use when crumb is used. Carry over from my thug years back in highschool! Windy mule with 50ish clothcraft.

Ykkisweak-Ykk was a gilseller, got pissed off at him for one thing or another one day and made this mule. Kendro sent me like 100 stacks of Cannon Shells on this mule if anyone wants any, I gave up trying to use them all.

When I started playing MMO's, I wanted a simple, et effective name that gives an impact to my character's persona. I found nouns to be effective. Take for example, Cage was one of my first ideas for a name, but I believe it was already taken somewhere. Also, out-dated words we also on my good list seeing they're barely said or heard of these days.

Sellsword: A mercenary, a professional soldier hired to serve in a foreign army or guerrilla organisation, working or acting merely for money or other reward, a legionnaire, a soldier of fortune, a resistance fighter.

All under one word.

WEll I guess mine is pretty much self-explanitory. Mike <Michael> is my frist name and so mikey, well i thought girls would think it was cute and talk to me lol, and the t is the first initial of my last name.
In retrospect tho i really wanted sometihing like Legion or Necron99, but i'm happy with mikeyt.

Jglluamesh- Ive told this story a couple of times, but when I started the game I was a Bastokan hume named Arthur like King Arthur... I read alot of Authorian legend books (into knights and all that stuff among other things.. probally why I have a large dragon tattoo on my arm) and watch all the movies that come out... Upon playing for few min I imeadiately got lost in one of the houses or something.. So I restarted the game I was so impatient(partially cause how long it takes to start this game) When I retried the game I attempted to be Gilgamesh it was taken... So then I tried Jgilgamesh but it ended up being Jglluamesh because I was rushing and started pushing anything just to finish...I planned to restart game again but I got so far into it i never did...

I have a mule Moadib like Stilgar im a huge dune fan why this is a perfect shell for me!

Dentay: I was gona have dente from DMC but that was all ready taken and DMC is like one of my fav games. I realy can't wait for DMC4. and it was a name I liked and thought it was cool.

mule(belannear) well that name came from the table top game I play called Warhammer fantasy Belanner is a high elf believe it all not and my chara is a elvaan so I thought why not. and Belanner is a great loremaster=magic, he fought in a tugh battle's and he is a prince of the high elfs but yeah thats my chara names but im thinking of doing anther mule maybe, but that name im thinking about.

as for my character name i wanted it to have the first same three letters as my bro's character (Valhallodin) so that's how valkera came to be as my main character.

My mule's name carlena well that name took a while for me to come up with. i was looking for female names online. i was originally gonna name her after a color of paint but that name was already taken so i chose carlena.

OO I like this thread! I love names..I have 3 books on differnt ways your name means things or maps out your apparent destiny or whatever. I had a very hard time trying to name my kids...>.<

I took this name and changed it slightly from book I read many years ago. The name was Undauntra, and when I used to play DnD I made a elvan healer named Udauntra. So when I started playing this game I was like...hmm...I liked Udauntra I'll use that!
Then I couldnt remember how i'd spelled it and so it came out Uduantra...and the rest is history...I now use this name for just about everything..or the other version of Udauntra..
my Mules were Erwyn (Arwyn was taken..LotR fan) and Whinry(Winry was taken and I was very into FMA at the time)
And yeah...thats about it...

I chose Mnementh and the Dragonriders of Pern series because I am a dragon fanatic and those books are very well written and I enjoy the story and the unique take on dragons in the series. I chose Mnementh over Flar for my main because I like the idea of being the noble dragon more than the noble rider.
