Is crafting really all its cracked up to be? I mean how much profit can u really make through crafting and how much can i expect to spend before the money starts to roll in?

K and Amy....though i guess that was back in February. and i think in regards to one of my earlier questions, there was no current love interest. things didn't work out with either of them? i bet you tried to get both at once eh? i've done that, doesn't work too well. Oh, Amy was long ago (years, in fact). We dated for about a month or two and then it didn't work out. It was funny neither one of us said a thing we just knew it was time to end it and stopped seeing each other. K. If this is Karen I was talking about welll she had a boyfriend at the time and no matter what I said wouldn't leave him. (I was rather persistent.)

At how many levels above a crafting recipe can you expect to start HQing things consistently? For example, if I want to make Bloody Bolts (a level 16 synth), what woodworking level can I begin to expect a lot of 66 and 99 synths? Obviously, this is going to depend on moon phase and day and such, but I mean just at any random conditions. About 30 lvls after cap you should be able to get a decent number of HQs. You will still get normals and failures, but the number of HQs should increase. As a lvl 60 woodworker I can get almost double the arrowwood (lvl 2) every time; very similar for ash (lvl 8). Of course the higher you are above the cap the more likely you'll be to do a HQ.

Depending on the craft and how much research you do you can make money the entire way. For instance woodworking you can make money starting at lvl 0. As for how much profit you can make? Let me put it this way. With the exception of Eco-Warrior, Garrison, some gardening, and very very little farming all my gil has been made from crafting.

Yea, it was so much fun. Good thing that job didn't believe in sexual harrassment or I'd be in deep shit. Favorite.... Most likely Leathercraft. Woodworking was my first and was really cool, but I can make so many more things with leathercraft. I can make my own gear for the most part. Eventually I'd like to have everything I wear either rare/ex or signed by me.

that would be pretty sweet to have signed all your armor... a lofty goal, but i don't doubt that you could obtain it.
that would be kind of tough for me seeing as the majority of my armor is metal and i really don't feel like lvling smithing at all.
so once i have cooking up a bit more, i'm either gonna start woodworking or leathercrafting (i'd like to chill in my home city) so my question is:
which, in terms of ease of lvling and profit is a better choice? or perhaps, could you list the pros and cons of both?

Is that a challenge? Woodworking is both cheaper and easier to lvl. You can make profit with woodworking the whole way. Leathercrafting you're much more likely to come out in the hole. Woodworking. Pros: cheap (mainly earth crystals, and wind), you can use the arrows and save gil, eventually you can make furniture (with other crafts also lvl'd). Cons: it takes time and gil, like all crafts Leathercrafting: Pros: you can make your own low lvl armor, not only for mages, but every job. It's one of the most versatile crafts and gives some of the best items to craft for profit. If you take it high enough you can make your own Sniper's Rings. It's a lot more satisfying since you know how expensive it can be. Cons: It's hecka expensive. Most of the crystals you will be using are dark. Leathercrafting is probably the 2nd or 3rd most expensive craft.

AD stands for Anno Domini, which means 'the year of the Lord'. (Consquently, BC is 'Before Christ'). The AD means that this is the 2004th year since the birth of Christ, although it's believed we're actually 3 or 4 years off.

is it really Before Christ? i've heard that too, but it seems odd that AD would be in latin (i'm assuming it's latin) and then BC would be english...unlless the latin translation is something like Beforeus Christus
