Does anyone else here mess with their DAT files?

On this page download Altana Viewer it's the most up to date one for FF includes WoTG stuff.

I also use WinRar to unzip it and look at the files. When you go through it's pretty easy to work. At the bottom of the screen when you pull up a dat file that you like it will show you the path. Let me know if you need any other help, but it's pretty easy :) Enjoy

Oh it might come up with a message saying "FF has been updated blah blah" just click ok or w/e it's not important. Just run the .exe file once it unzips. I just saved it on my desktop so I could find it fast.

If you find something that lets me change individual icons for status effects that'd be awesome. Last I found was a program that changed a whole slew of them, but was unable to change individual ones. I'm tired of thinking I have Counterstance up when it's only Enfire and other similar situations.

Otherwise, thanks for the link. I looked through it a bit and it seems easy enough to use. Last I used was FFXI Model View v1.0.1.

There is a UI that changes your status symbols. It actually comes up with a fire symbol for barfire etc. This is the link, you have to follow the instructions from this guys site. It's not hard and changes your UI for you. The catch is that you might have to change your resolution around. I had to play with it quite a bit and with GoC's help got it working. Anyhow here's the link.

Then you just pick one of the two download sites and download the file and unzip it where it tells you.

I cut and pasted these buffs in it shows you the barspell icons. This way you know if you want to mess with the dl or not.



This is something I've only been using about 2 or 3 months maybe. It's kind of nice, it changes other things as well like lfp icons and some fonts. Not 100% sure this is what you mean but it's pretty cool. Hope that helps.

GoC and i tried to use a dat file on me but somehow i messed it up. i don't know how i could have messed it up because i followed all the instructions that Goc gave me the right way. but when i logged back on to ffxi all i had was a floating head lol.
