what does piss you off about ptying?
for me it is a number of things
1. dumbasses 2. dumberasses 3. disbanding when i am @10 tnl or less....like my whm last weekend... 4. whm that mysteriously go afk with no notice to come back and say "Oh, u said u were pulling? i thought u said <insert retarded comment here>" 5. waiting hours for a pty 6. waiting for a person to leave so u can replace them, only to find out that pty sucks and they disband after i die from a bad pull 7. when someone dies, i would like to get thier lvl back, or at least their exp, but people give up after one death, even if the pty has been going for 2+hrs with no problem. 8. leaders who think a whm isnt nessesary, beacause i am a pld, and can heal myself just as well 9. get this, had a pty that had a dd that didnt have a weapon, and no he wasnt a mnk. (see above #2) 10. finally, when people want to sata off of a rng, not me the tank, and yes it actually happened.

Waiting for them. I'm hanging out in Qufim right now with my DRK and I was sitting around tonight for an hour before I even started getting a party together. Oh well... I guess its just the nature of the beast.

I get mad when people start trying to tell other people how to do their jobs in a party. There is nothing that makes my blood boil more than 'I have a level 75 (insert job here) on another server, you should do this and blah blah blah'. I don't mind if people are trying to be nice and offer constructive criticism, but I hate when people talk down to party members, even if they are right. And then those people who are jerks, as well as wrong, ugh, they make me wanna ralph. My other pet peeves are SATA stealers and SC-incapable-ers. As an example, the other day, Stri and I were binge gaming (11 hours in a row, he left the couch once, me only twice). Anyways, after waiting for 5 hours, I finally got a party. The setup was as follows... SAM/WAR <--me, duh! PLD/WAR THF/NIN MNK/THF (yes, /THF not /WAR...Ik...can you tell me why? I didn't get it and it made me mad) BRD/RDM SMN/WHM Yes, no WHM. The party was awesome. We did really well, and could have done even better if not for the MNK, who was both of those things I previously mentioned. Now, the best way to help a PLD to hold hate is to land a SATA onto them at the beginning of the fight. Since I had WAR subbed, I could provoke first, and this wasn't a problem. Well, it shouldn't have been anyways. Because the MNK had THF subbed, they would use Sneak Attack. This is no big deal, whatever. However, when I would provoke first, they would run to the back of the mob, right where the THF and PLD were trying to set up SATA. This resulted in at least 1/3 of the SATAs landing on the MNK, not the PLD. Even worse, when the mob was all over them, they would run in circles around it, spinning it like a top. Now, I can understand if they made this mistake once or twice, but they did it for the entire time! We must have asked them not to do it literally a dozen times. Also, they didn't know how to skillchain. As a Samurai, this is especially frustrating to me. We were trying to do two skillchains in the party. The first was the ever-present Tachi: Enpi >> SATA Viper Bite. Tried and true, this SC rocks. The next was Tachi: Kagero >> Raging Fists. Now, this SC isn't all that great, but it was an SC nonetheless. The MNK managed to screw them both up. When they would actually follow what was going on, and follow my Kagero w/ Raging Fists, they would do it RIGHT after I did mine, and it wouldn't SC. Then, other times when I would be SCing w/ the THF, they would toss their Raging Fists after my Enpi, throwing everything off, and sometimes keeping the Viper Bite from hitting with SATA. All they would have had to do was pay attention just a little bit. Skillchaining just isn't that hard, but it seems that so very few people get it. /em end rant.

Well, first off I'm one of those people who tell others how to do their jobs. However, I do not tell them in party chat, but in /tells. The last pt I was in the WHM wasn't using regen and regen II very effectively. So I told him how to do so. I mentioned it politely and suggested that he would save mp by using regen II on the trick partner and the tank. He understood it somewhat and was getting a better grasp of it, but still not that good. Secondly, I don't yell or act harshly (at least I try not to) when I give advice. Being calm and reasonable will get people to listen to you a lot more often.
MNK/THF is really only worth anything after lvl 60 so you can SATA. For using it before I'd say he either didn't have WAR lvl'd (which would indicate his moronism) or wanted to use it for Steal. Personally I'll probably stick with /WAR the whole time unless the pt specifically asks otherwise. Plus add to the fact that SA only works on the first hit makes it much less worthwhile for a h2h character. Oh, so my first hit goes for 100 instead of 60. Big freakin' deal. Because of having /THF now my normal hits are 55 instead of 60. See how this adds up?
Ok, on to my section of this discussion.
- SAMs who can't/don't know how/don't want to skillchain. - BLMs who can't/don't know how/don't want to skillchain. - Other jobs who ..... skillchain. - People who don't listen to suggestions. - Peolpe who think DRKs make better trick partners than MNKs. - People who don't want to invite a MNK. - People who don't lvl their subjob. - People who have a static partner and thus suck much more. - People who pt with a significant other and defend stupid thoughts/actions/whatnot. - People without maps. - People who have know clue what we're fighting or where. - Waiting 6+ hrs for a pt and then having to accept any crap pt that's willing/desperate enough/whatnot to accept a MNK. - Never having both a PLD and WHM seeking at the same time so that I can build my own pt's. - People who want the MNK to pull because the THF or RNG sucks at it. - People who think gear or subjobs don't matter. - Getting an invite, shuffling gear, tele'ing/running/choco'ing to the pt location only to disband after 500 xp.

I dont mind if someone tells another how to do there job if they have played that job to some extent and know what they are talking about, but in my experience, they usually have not. I CANT STAND when someone tells me something along the lines of...probably not a good idea to use -ga spells in here...when I know dam well that I use them all the time. Its such a common misconception to a lot of people that -ga spells are not for parties....when that is just BS. Yes you have to be careful...and you cant just blindly cast things, but 95% of the time there nothing in the area and if your at any kind of decent camp, nothing will spawn close either. The radius of a -ga spell isnt as large as most people think and right now, besides Freeze, they are my strongest spells. Telling me I cant use them, just cripples my job. Sorry for the rant....but after playing 51 levels of BLM, reading BLM forums and talking to higher lvl BLMs...I feel I know the job better than most. Agh!! phew I feel better.

i find it funy that people think they know how to do others jobs, just beacause they have seen one way to do it, never actually lvl'd the job themselves. ei a whm telling a brd how to do thier job properly, when they havent done brd yet. yes, it is pretty EEtarded if u dont know your own job by now, but come on, telling them and suggesting are 2 different things
i am a relatively new PLD, so i may not be the best PLD out there yet, so i can take suggestions on holding hate well, and whatnot, but if anyone tries to tell me what to do, and i mean they think its the only way to do it, ill tell them to lick my anus and ill leave.
another good reason y i hate some pties, people have dumb macros that may be offensive (ei "Eat This Homo!" /ja "Hundred Fists" <me>)

That reminds me of what happens when I level by BLM sub. The RDM would do nothing but nuke non stop untill he was out of MP. He also would WS in the middle of our SC. Later we got a Rank 10 SMN who had Fennir. So Fennir and the THF would SC and I would use Blizzaga. After a few times the SMN /praise me and the party finally got on a roll and i finally got lvl 33. It took 6 hrs to get 5k xp starting when we first got to the Citidal. Ppl kept leaving too. I did not say anything to the RDM hoping he would learn on his own to save his MP. He nuked more than me o.O
