Ok, this is the last post about the Promyvions before this Friday. I apologize for the tardiness, but there have been some adjustments made, and I wanted to have parties set in stone before I tried to set strategy.
WE WILL BE BEGINNING AT 6 P.M. CST ON FRIDAY, JULY 8TH. IF YOU ARE NOT ON TO CLAIM YOUR SPOT BY 7 P.M. AT THE ABSOLUTE LATEST, YOU WILL BE REPLACED.
Please come and be ready to dedicate yourself for a large chunk of time. We will likely have some break time waiting for 2-hours to recharge before the next boss fight, but please try to keep a 5 or 6 hour block open.
The final parties have now officially been set, and changes have been set in bold. They are as follows:
Party #1
Valhallodin- RNG/NIN
Striveldt- DRK/WAR
Stilgar- WAR/NIN
Sicarius- SAM/WAR
Silverwolf- SMN/WHM
Siban- WHM/BLM
Party #2
Krimzon- RNG/NIN
Leesc- WHM/BLM
Wiliam- RNG/NIN
Lok- BLM/WHM
Jglluamesh- WAR/NIN
Ikonic- MNK/WAR
In order to be prepared, I am asking that everyone please bring the following:
Melee: 6 Au Lait drinks (Pear is a solid choice)
6 Poison Potions (To keep from being slept)
SAM: Mithkabobs or Sushi
DRK: Mithkabobs or Sushi
WAR: Jack-o-Lanterns
RNG: Couerl Subs or Sushi
Some sort of Potions may be brought, but should not be needed.
Mages: 6 Yagudo Drinks or maybe 12 Melon Juices (for MP regen)
6 Poison Potions (To keep from being slept)
Food of your choice
Some sort of Ethers may also be very helpful.
Animas can be used to inflict certain statuses on the Promyvion bosses. Many people chose not to attend the Recollection farming (Animas are made out of Recollections), and as such we may not have as many animas as we would like. They are not an absolute must, but they do make it easier. Please, if at all possible, get your hands on some Animas.
I can make Juices or Au Laits for people who need them. If you would like me to make these for you, please let me know ASAP so I can buy supplies. It may be easiest to have me make them in order to save space. Also, we may end up sitting around in the Spires waiting for 2-hours to recharge, which would be a good time to craft supplies.
We will be doing the Promyvions in the following order:
1. Promyvion-Mea
2. Promyvion-Dem
3. Promyvion-Holla
This is doing them in the order that is allegedly easiest to hardest. I feel it is best to get our things together and acclimated in the easiest environment first, rather than trying to just get the hardest one out of the way first so it is downhill.
GENERAL STRATEGY
In order to progress through the Promyvions, parties/alliances must seek out and destroy Memory Receptacles on the first 3 floors of the crag. Each Memory Receptacle will also be surrounded by Empty mobs called Strays. The Strays must all be destroyed as well as the Memory Receptacle in order to open the 'portal' to the next floor. Some floors will have more than one Memory Receptacle. If this is the case, only one of the Memory Receptacles will open the 'portal', and it is a matter of trial and error to find out which it is.
WE WILL NOT FIGHT ANY MOBS UNLESS WE ARE AGGRO'D.
WE WILL NOT FIGHT ANY MOBS UNLESS WE ARE AGGRO'D.
WE WILL NOT FIGHT ANY MOBS UNLESS WE ARE AGGRO'D.
The goal will be to never fight anything except for the Memory Receptacles, Strays, and the bosses. Empty mobs have true sight, so we cannot simply use Invisible to walk by them. We must pick and choose our spots carefully in order to make it through the floors without drawing aggro. It is of vital importance that everyone participating pay particularly careful attention to the person leading the way to the Memory Receptacles (a RNG who has targeted it on Widescan). In the event that someone does draw aggro, we must immediately try to draw it to a safe area where it can be killed without drawing more aggro. Once it is killed, we will contunue along the path to the Memory Receptacle, again trying to avoid aggro. On the final floor, it is sometimes advisable to simply make a break for it and try to reach the Spire, rather than trying to isolate and fight.
IF WE DRAW AGGRO, WE MUST ISOLATE AND KILL AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. THE KEY IS TO AVOID MORE AGGRO.
Promyvion-Mea
The boss of Promyvion-Mea is Delver. His info can be found here:
ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/bestiary.html?fmob=3333
I have killed this guy before with only 4 people. However, it is far from a walk in the park. Please familiarize yourself with what people on AK have to say about him. The more you know, the better off we are.
Some people seem to think trying to kite him is the best strategy, while others seem to think that straight up tanking him is best. I would like to try handling it like a regular fight, and then when he is roughly 40% HP left, have people use their 2-hours and simply unload as quickly as they can. As long as one person is left alive when he is beaten, we all get the key item, so people should be ready to die. Obviously we hope nobody has to, but it is a very strong possibility.
Promyvion-Dem
The boss of Promyvion-Dem is Progenerator. His info can be found here:
ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/bestiary.html?fmob=3163
He spawns Offsprings to fight with him, but apparently they are not too hard. I have no personal experience with him, however, so I cannot say for sure. Again, please familiarize yourself with this mob, and we should be able to kill him without too much issue.
Promyvion-Holla
The boss of Promyvion-Holla is Wreaker. His info can be found here:
ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/bestiary.html?fmob=3087
He uses AoE sleep, drain, etc. etc. Basically, this guy is nasty. I have been killed by him before. I can't pinpoint what went wrong, but sadly, we didn't get it done. He is by no means impossible, but he is certainly quite tough. Like the others, please familiarize yourself with this mob.
The final strategies for the mobs will be decided upon and set in stone while waiting in the Spire to start the boss fight.
If possible, we will try to save our 2-hours and animas. However, we need to be very quick on the trigger with the 2-hours, because I would rather use them when we didn't absolutely need them than die because we chose not to use them.
If you have any questions of comments, please ask or air them as soon as possible so we can make any last-minute adjustments as pain-free as possible.
See you Friday, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE ON TIME!!!!!
