I would very much like to set up a Promy run for the next weekend (March 10th/11th)
I'll be going as BLU/NIN or BLU/BLM (whatever is better)
As always any suggestions or participations are very much appreciated.

Hmmm, well Taydr/Fihyr's CoP LS does CoP events on weekends, although we're kinda done with Promy runs. Depending on ToD you're looking to set these up I might be able to bring my smn along. I'm pretty well versed in all Promvy runs. This would also be a good chance to get ppl involved that have not seen CoP missions before. But please note before getting involved with any CoP...
1) Promyv runs are 30 cap event.
2) Farming animas beforehand (not as part of the run time) is almost a necessity. Need at least a few Hystero and Psycho Anima to make sure the boss fight goes smoothly. You would farm Recollections of Pain and Fear from Wanderers and Weepers in Holla and Dem. After obtaining the recollections, you trade them and 2000gil per recollection to turn into an Anima.
3) CoP missions especially because of lvl Cap require up to date gear for that lvl. You don't always need the best depending on your job but this is more important for tanks and DD.
4) Consumables for all CoP missions are a necessity. Food, especially Yagudo drinks and Hi-Ethers for mages are very necessary. Mostly just for the boss fights. Reraise items (preferred multiple per person are necessary in case something goes wrong). For Holla melee jobs need poison potions to avoid being slept by the boss, I think mea you want antidotes to cure the posion from the boss as it take about 13HP per tick. So depending on which Promyv, you'll most likely spend roughly 10-15K gil minimum.
5) The right job combinations are very necessary. Later CoP missions require almost spot on certain job setups that may shift from mission to mission. Promyvion runs are a little looser in this respect but the following are very important. --1PLD, or 2 WAR/NIN or 1NIN/WAR and 1 WAR/NIN are necessary for tanking. A single NIN or WAR/NIN will most likely not work. --WHM are not a necessity but very handy for raises should they be needed. --SMN are not absolutely necessary but help a lot when it comes to fighting the bosses. --BLM are not as useful as one might think. All promyv mobs have an elemental weakness based on their core color, but BLM spells seem somewhat innefective most of the time. This is based on my personal experience, BLM do come in handy, I just don;t like taking my BLM along. --BLU with the right spells, i'm not sure which are best, are extremely damaging. I went through a run with a blu the other day and he was out DDing everybody on the way to the spire. --RNG is a good DD to have along as they can also use Widescan to determine the right Memory Receptacle to fight. --Many job combinations can used here, and i don't think any jobs are ruled out as helpful as long as you have the right core jobs in place.
So in short, CoP missions can be very difficult, however, with the right knowledge and preparation they become kind of clockwork. Just be advised most missions require monetary investments and careful planning.

I make myself sad sometimes... ; ; No really whm are handy for promyvions cause people tend to... well... do stupid things in CoP missions lol ;D Seriously, as the only job that can raise for the promyvs its never a bad idea to bring a whm along, but everyone should have at least 2 methods of re-raise on hand anyways, including items like re-raise earrings which can be used mulitple times, a blm/whm, or rdm/whm can work just as well for most status effect and general curing. This mostly goes strictly for promyv's as every consequent mission I want a WHM around for. If you "need" a WHM for promyv's, well then you aren't really ready for them.. -no WHM including Raizo were harmed during this post, although the Lady Nessus came close to Hexa-striking him on the grounds that he suggested WHM are useless and RDM can do it better (which is entirely untrue to the point of being false, and Raizo is the uber-WHM ;D )

Maybe it's because I did the Prommys pre-nerfing of the monsters and pre-placement adjustment, and before my shellmates were all 'high levels' and could afford two methods of re-raise on them at all times -- but I felt pretty useful when I raised all 5 of them outside the spire as they died horribly running accross it. Also when my Bene saved our butts in 2/3 of the boss fights. I'm not really sure how they are now-a-days but I suppose a summoner or something would do.
You work with what you have in the end though, and any balanced solid group can tackle these if you plan and have animas
