Trying to figure out what to have mom buy you for Christmas? You can now pre-order the FFXI Vana'diel Clock for $44.99 which will ship on 11/14/2005. www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/245324.aspThis clock displays the time, date, and day of the week in both Vana'diel time and Earth time along with the phases of Vana'diel's moon. You can set four different alarms or countdown timers which play the background music from San d'Oria, Bastok, Windurst, and Jeuno. www.playonline.com/ff11us/index.shtml

I've always thought about getting the clock, but never could find it or justify it. While the following link isn't to a RL clock it is to a free add-on for Firefox. It has a good deal of info and is very helpful to crafters, Ballistaers, and RSE hunters. ffxi.xenoveritas.org/tools/vanaclock/index.shtml

I've got it, bought it one day just for the hell of it, I think I was working on my avatars at the time & it was convienent to see what day it is without having to go online. I like that it has 4 alarms to wake me up in the morning, I usually need them all + my usual one ><
On the downside, the display is a little hard to see, unless you're looking at just the right angle, & even though it does light up it's hard to read at night too 'cause of the way the lighting was designed.
The first time I set it the time and day were always right, but the moon phase was always off, I set it again later on & it was right, I've set it a third time just 'cause i was messing with it, and it's pretty close. So the inaccuracies are probabally just me being too lazy to do a good job rathar than a problem with the clock.
All in all i don't know that it's worth 50 bucks but it's neat/handy in some respects.
