I know we have quite a few people who are in want/need of the Rutter Sabatons. I'd like to schedule a run for Thursday, November 2nd @ 10pm CST. Please come with a full stack of Prism Powders and Silent Oils as you may need them. If you are not prepared I will not hesitate to leave you behind. Those who need/want the Sabatons need to have an Air Tank (dropped by Hobgoblin Blagger in Bibiki Bay) beforehand. I have an extra one on a mule that I'm willing to sell. Take note that the Rutter Sabatons are not a 100% drop. Please reply with your job/lvl and if you are coming for the Rutter Sabatons. Additional Information:Bugbear Matman - SomepageBugbear Matman - AKBugbear Matman - FfxiclopediaMembers:Ikonic: MNK75 Jglluamesh: WAR75, RDM75 w/Airtank Valhallodin: SAM73 w/Airtank (might be able to make it)

I'm not sure if I can participate, it's on a Thursday and I usually babysit during that time. But, it also might be one of the weekends I don't have to be there. If so, I'd like to help out if you think I'd be useful, it'd be a chance to earn points, too. There might be a chance that Ichigo can come along, too.
It's 5 points per kill, right? Just thought I'd point that out for people that aren't interested in the Rutter Sabatons for themselves; you should still come along if you can, to make things that much easier for everyone, and also to get points for yourself to put toward X item you've always wanted.

I would really like to get a pair of Rutter Sabatons, and I have 2 air tanks (I would need someone to get one from my mule and hold it for me if possible). However, I cannot say for certain whether or not I can go at this time, as I have a Finite Element Analysis assignment due the following day.
I would say right now it is about 70% chance I can come as 73SAM. Sorry I can't give more assurance than that, I have no way of knowing just how this assignment will pan out.

Whew! I think it's safe to say we learned a lot from last night's experience. On the whole, we went 3/4 on the fight, and 3/3 on the drop, which is pretty solid.
We also found out that while it is not too difficult to get to the spawn point, it is an very, shall we say, involved process. It requires a lot of teamwork and cooperation, as well as some preparation. In the end, it took us about 2 hours just to get to where we needed to go, which was frustrating, but also a learning experience, and I'd like to thank everyone for their patience. In the future, if we do these runs, we will know what to expect in terms of getting there. Good job by everyone to drive through the frustration and get it done. Also, everyone came prepared with silent oils and prism powders, which was a big plus.
As for the actual fight, it was not terribly difficult (as we did win 3/4), but it can definitely take you off guard if you are not prepared. The first fight, the Bugbear did Flying Hip Press twice in about a 10 second span, which killed off 1/3 of the party I believe. Essentially, you can try Baraera to try to reduce it, but since the only one we had was from /WHM I don't know if it helped or not. More important is to have mages ready for it, either with Curaga, or rapid Cures to get everyone back to ship shape right away, in case he should use it again. Even after that, it's still a tough fight, he uses other AoE, and hits hard and quickly. But, as long as your mages are on top of things, it is a very winnable fight. Special thanks to Mesh and Hakai, who both did a great job of keeping us all alive.
Congratulations to Cleos, Jglluamesh, and myself who got our Rutter Sabatons, and special thanks to Hat, Ikonic, and Hakaipankeiki (I can never spell that without looking it up) who helped us out. It was a great team effort!
