It's time to set up another O-Hat run for those who were unable to get one at our last event. I'm setting this up for Saturday the 25th @ 2pm CST. Meeting place is Yhoater Jungle/Temple of Uggalepih. All drops are free lot by those not receiving an O-Hat. Trade order will be decided at start of event. Those who come later will be placed at the end of the list. For this fight we need at least 3 dedicated healers, 3-4 dedicated stunners, 2-3 dedicated tanks (NIN preferred). Melee who are not 73+ should sub THF and even those who are may want to or be requested to. Mages should sub WHM (curaga greatly helps). Please reply here with what jobs/lvls you can bring. I'll be coming, of course. Hopefully Stilgar and Allybaba can come as well; if the three of us can get O-hats then this run will tie up the loose ends from the first run and the attempt that followed it. On the last successful run, 4 people got O-hats, so the three of us should definitely get ours this time around. Stilgar lost his cluster on the last attempt, so I have no problem with giving him the first drop this time around should he so choose.
I'll most likely come with /WHM. Lately on everything we've done, /WHM has ended up meaning the difference between a loss and a win (like having Curaga for the Rutter Sabatons run and Silena on ZM8). But, I'll be a dedicated stunner, not a healer. I can /THF also, but we'll probably end up needing the extra Paralynas and Curaga II's instead of my SATA.
If this is your first time fighting Hakutaku, please read up on it a bit in the links above and my descriptions below, it's important to have an idea what we're up against, we don't want any losses this time. Losing against this isn't just a loss of Exp, but a serious hurt on the person who used their cluster to spawn it. We'll need a full alliance, and we will greatly appreciate the help of every LS member and friends who come to lend a hand. Of course, any LS member who helps out will be awarded points for participating, 2 points per kill and additional points depending on the amount of time spent on the run. This is a great learning experience, too.
Here's the basic things you need to know about Hakutaku. It's a level 85 hecteyes mob. It has the regular resistances and attacks that any hecteyes would have, including Death Ray and [yellow]Hex Eye[/yellow]. The latter is an AOE paralysis ability, gaze type, meaning you and Hakutaku have to be face-to-face for it to work. So, mages who keep their backs turned toward him won't need to worry about paralysis. It will be important to cast Paralyna immediately after Hex Eye; first on any tanks so they don't miss an Utsusemi or Provoke recast, then on any mages who might've been hit by it, and finally on remaining melees if necessary.
Hakutaku can cast Fire IV, Flare, and [red]Firaga III[/red]. While Fire IV and Flare are devastating to a single target, a shadow will absorb them and they can often be survived at full HP, so they aren't a big deal. Firaga III can end the fight in an ugly way, even a really successful fight can end sourly after one of those. Thankfully, having a few good Stunners around can keep the Firaga III's on lockdown.
Anyone who can cast Stun will be on a Stun queue to gaurentee that Hakutaku never gets a Firaga III off. Basically, each person in the Stun queue will put a message after their Stun macro that tells the next person that it's their turn to Stun. When it's your turn to Stun, don't cast or initiate any actions that take more than a second to execute. Watch the log carefully for "Hakutaku starts casting Firaga III" and Stun that spell, and only that spell. Then it will be the next Stunner's turn to be on the watch for Firaga III.
There are other hecteyes in the area, Million Eyes, and they aggro on sound, but they don't link. As long as no one strays from the area we'll be fighting Hakutaku at, which is hecteyes-spawn free, then there should be no problem with additional mobs. If you do stray and get aggroed during the fight, it might be best to run away and take one for the team so that no one else is attacked by it. The Million Eyes can cast aga-III spells, so an additional Million Eyes can help end what would have otherwise been a very successful fight if it joins at a bad time. Of the 4 successful Hakutaku fights I helped with, not a single Million Eyes joined the battle, so there shouldn't be a problem.

I cannot make it for this run, regretably. I will be traveling for the holiday, and will be hundreds of miles from my PC and my PS2 with no access to internet. I really wish I could come, but this is about the only time of the year I get a chance to see that half of my family. Sorry again guys.
