Linkshell Recruiting

I just had a bad experience that I thought I should share with the rest of you. Rockra logged into HouseAtreides to announce that anyone who wanted to join his Linkshell could meet him in Port Jeuno to get a pearl.

I sent him a tell asking him to please not recruit for his shell in HA. He responded that it was for his old linkshell and that he wasn't trying to steal our members. He then said if it was a problem he would stay away.

I told him that recruiting in HA was a problem but he is welcome anytime. He responded that he didn't feel welcome in HA and hasn't for some time.

Why would you recruit for your linkshell from a place you don't feel welcome? That seems a bit odd to me. Also, whenever I have seen him log on to HA, everyone always said hello to him. What more does he want? He left PIF for personal reasons and in his absence, it went to shit in a big way. He wasn't around to fix it so did the only thing we could to insure the same problem didn't happen again, we started HA.

I don't appreciate anyone recruiting for another shell in HA. Please don't do it.

I was very unhappy to see his recruiting. Not only did he say if anyone wanted a pearl to meet him, but he didn't stay on afterwards. It was a hit and run for all intents and purposes. It actually pissed me off enough that I would have kicked him if I had a sack (was on a mule at the time).

The only time it is ok to recruit for a LS in another is if the LS being recruited for is a event-based one. Things like garrison, dynamis, or crafting, but never just because you want more people for a general LS.

As for him not being welcome in HA I just don't get that. We always have welcomed him. Maybe if he hadn't ran off and made another LS and totally ignored us he might feel more welcome, but IMO the only person not welcoming him is himself.

I agree with Ik here. I've always been friends with Rock, but that is pushing the boundries. Sure HA is a sort of child of RH, but it is NOT RH, and Rock has no claim to any leadership in the shell. Therefore, he shouldn't be recruiting for his new shell in it. Personally, I think Rockra was a good leader, but he's changed and I don't think anyone could do a better job than Stilgar right now.

Rock will always be welcome in HA as far as i'm concerned, and he'll always be my friend. But maybe not as close as he used to be.

Ive known Rock since we both were lvl 10 running around the Ghelsba outpost matter of fact I I helped him get his Pld back in the day. Im sure thats why Ive always <gotten a sack...unwarranted..since I didnt use to play that much> in the many recarnations of rockhak.... I think hes great, but hes been real different since he left HA for a break last time....I will always count him as a friend, but I now count u guys as my gaming family......Im starting to share in new adventures with u guys and hope for many more....

I also agree, even though I wasn't on at the time, that what he did was totally wrong.

As for how he could not feel welcome, that just doesn't make any sense at all to me. In all honesty, I think he always got a warmer welcome on HA than he really deserved, considering he just kind of left us all for naught, and never really did anything other than pop on to say hi (and pimp his new LS, apparently). I understand that real life gets in the way, and by all means it's way more important than the game could ever be, but when he came back, he didn't seem very interested in staying a part of the HA family. He instead started his own LS and tried to bring people from HA into it. Not kosher in my book.

Rock is a good guy, but what he did was completely unacceptable, and it really does make me think a little bit less of him.
