Anyway, it's a good thing I didn't finish planning that Promy run the other friday because I would have had a lot of people pissed off at me XD
I cook brunch at a restaurant on the weekends, which is conveniently downstairs from my apartment. So I go in Saturday morning at 8ish and I'm setting up for the day and such, and all of a sudden I notice that it's 20 minutes until we open and the dishwasher and the guy I cook with aren't there. I call up the guy, who also lives in the building, and he answers the phone and goes "Ohh, I don't feel good today. I'm gonna take a shower and see how I feel later." .... ><*** Long story short, I end up cooking with the boss, who's pissed off ass all hell, and the dishwasher waltzes in later with his coffee.
Halfway through the morning rush, the friend of the guy who lives on the bottom floor came into the kitchen and asked the boss, who is also the landlord, to come open the guy's apartment - leaving me to cook both sides of the line alone. So I just finish the last order and I'm moving on to go prep stuff for the next day when all of a sudden, the boss rushes into the room, almost knocking me over in the process, and shouts "We need to call 911! *** fell!" The waitress, who used to be a nurse, overhears this and goes over to the apartment thinking that maybe he hurt his back and can't get up or something because he has diabetes. Meanwhile I'm thinking, "Oh shit, ***'s dead." because the day before, I had seen his car in the parking lot and thought to myself, "Oh, that's odd. Doesn't he usually have work now?".
I was right. The poor waitress climbs over all the garbage in the apartment and finds him dead in the living room. And being a nurse, she knows he's dead and has been dead for a while just by looking at him. The boss, who is friends with this guy, in a panic, gets the dishwasher and someone from the *DINING ROOM* to help turn over his body so she can make the waitress give him CPR. Nothing like going out for breakfast and turning over dead bodies >.>;;;; Anyway, all parties involved are traumatized and freaked out for the rest of the day. I ended up cooking alone the entire day because the boss was calling everyone to break the news. The crazy part is that people were still coming in with an ambulance, police cars AND the coroner's car parked in the parking lot! I got home around 4, passed out almost immediately, woke up again at 11, checked my email, and went back to bed.
When I was working Sunday, I got all the details I missed about what happened the day before. The poor waitress was so traumatized that she couldn't sleep at all and then at 4:30 in the morning, she has to go bail her mother out of jail. Needless to say, she was a zombie the whole day.
Later that week, I had a house-sitting job, which is when I would have planned the promy run for because at my apartment I usually end up having to get up every 20 minutes or so to do something, and I find out that they password protected their internet connection so I can't play XI ><***
Let's start drama number 2!
I get a call in the morning while I'm at the house-sitting job from my friend. She asks if I can come over to get my Wii, which I let them borrow, because they're moving to Rhode Island today. I'm like, WTF!? I go over to get the story. Turns out the night before, my friend's fiance's boss broke into their van and put all the fiance's tools in there and they got a call in the morning that he was fired. They had already been financially struggling and were supposed to be in court that day for an eviction hearing. Her fiance had been injured in a workplace accident and they were about to get the settlement which would have paid off the rent they owed and been enough to get a car, which they needed, and then they would have been set up because the missed rent payments were from when her fiance was unemployed. So they were like, "They want us to pay up or get out, we're getting out." So I kept their 10 month old occupied while they put their entire apartment in the van and we talk about the guy who died, because my friend was really close to him. 6 hours later, they're off to Rhode Island, where the fiance has family, and I'm dead tired.
Let's start mini drama #3
This one's a simple one. My aunt, who I'm staying with at the moment, wants to move into another apartment because she's afraid the building's gonna burn down and she's gonna lose all her stuff and the cat. So everyday I walk into my room I'm like "Oh god... am I really gonna have to pack all this!?"
..... So, I just haven't been on XI for the past three weeks. I think about it all the time, but I never quite get inspired enough to open up POL. I'm gonna come back soon though, because I reaaaaaaaally want lvl 50 and access to the Phomiuna Aqueducts ^.^
Sorry for putting my craziness into the forum, lol
