Here's my gear. Yigit is a great set to fill in the gaps if you don't have other or if you already have it. Goliard has some really nice pieces, but unless you have a Nyzul static you probably won't get it. Same goes for Morrigan's.
I always start from my Basic Nuking Set and change gear accordingly.
My Basic Nuking Set: Vulcan's Staff Aquilo's Staff Auster's Staff Terra's Staff Jupiter's Staff Neptune's Staff Pluto's Staff Bugard Strap +1 Phantom Tathlum Wizard's Petasos +1 Enlightened Chain Abyssal Earring Moldavite Earring Igqira Weskit Morrigan's Cuffs Tamas Ring Genius Ring Rainbow Cape Sorcerer's Belt Errant Slops Yigit Crackows
My Nuke-Lite Set (used when I have full MP after resting): Forest Rope Moldavite Earring Loquac. Earring
Elemental Magic Set (used for gods and HNMs): Sorcerer's Petasos Elemental Torque Wizard's Gloves +1 Nashira Crackows
Dark Magic Set (Drain/Aspir mainly): Pluto's Staff Walahra Turban Dark Torque Abyssal Earring Dark Earring Sorcerer's Gloves Wizard's Tonban
HMP Set: Pluto's Staff Wizard's Petasos +1 Beak Necklace +1 Antivenom Earring Relaxing Earring Wizard's Coat +1 Qiqirn Sash +1 Yigit Seraweels Goliard Clogs
Enfeebling Set (for sleeps and other enfeebling): Wizard's Coat +1 Wizard's Petasos +1 Loquac. Earring Goliad Clogs Igqira Tiara Igqira Lappa

Yea, I use Ice, Thunder, and Dark on their respective days. Relic pants can also be used in conjunction with the obis.

I use much of the same gear Ikonic uses, except I don't have any relic. BUT! I have a Prizm cape XD
I use for my scorc ring macro
Zenith Mitts -> Zmitts Zenith Crown -> Af+1 Hat Zenith Slacks -> HQ Errant legs Star Pendent -> Elemental torque/uggl.pendent Ether ring -> Scorc's ring
get the merits to make yourself beefy. Only need 2-3 enfeeb merits to stick gravity on a flan or bug with the enfeeb swap Ik has listed. All I use is AF body, Igqira tiarra, and the "ToAU Macc+" ring.
also Obi's are great! Never leave your MH without them.

I have been using that int+6 head mostly cause im to lazy to get af head and also because of the +2 int it has over af... I was just wondering why others dont really use this head seems to me to be better than af... Crumb says because of the mp factor is that why the rest of u do not use it. Ive been starting w the z head for the mp and switching to the other head after a nuke or 2 to compensate. Atm im sitting still at 73 but am 5/7 elemntal merits 5/7 enfeeble 1/2 drk magic merits... i need lappa still to make my enfeebles beefy as fnord would say....

I personally prefer the AF+1 head as blm. Although the demon helm+1 has 1 more int it lacks 30mp and the eminty-3 that the af+ has. Plus the demon helm was like 3-400K last I checked, which was some months ago to say the least.
Z-Head is ok for the MP, but really I would stick to the higher Int giving gear for your head slot. Unless you get the relic hat which gives ele skill, but I would still stick to the AF+ hat for most situations.
I bet you could stick gravity on bugs with your enfeeb merits and enfeeb torque. Igqira head is real cheap on AH if you can find it, get that and you should be solo-ing with ease.

I use AF+1 for the MP also. For pure DMG the INT+6 would be the best bet, but the AF+1 also has -Enmity and that really adds up, especially in long fights when you don't have access to a THF.
I actually was tempted to get the INT+6 piece for the longest time, but used Yigit for awhile and then when I had the chance (after doing some testing) I went with AF+1.

yeah i have the igqra head and enfeeble torque already... Just missing pants i was supriesed to see how much enfeebling magic i could get too as blm.. Alot of blm's always complained of resist so I always assumed they couldnt get enough enfeeble skills. Lol there seems to be more enfeeble+ gear then rdm get. I think if i got the af+ items for blm id be more in a rush to go and get my af hat at this point I want the pants more for the drk magic skill lvl ( and no I dont have af pants feet or head for my blm) Lol I dont know why im in the habit of getting jobs to 75 before i complete my af quest.... So i guess ill use to demon+1 until i can get the af+1 items... Lol with the taru's i will be last to die so im not worried about -enm jk!

Its only funny because its true XD
I Don't quest AF until I hit lvl 60, so I can store them all at once so I kinda understand that.
Blm get alot of enfeeb gear that rdm doesn't. But blm has a pretty low skill rating so all that extra gear is really needed to stick stuff on xp mobs. I know I have been scolded by rdm's for sticking gravity on mobs before they got the chance to. But nothing is more frustrating then casting 4 sleep spells and still getting killed by some silly insomniac bug.

I'm the opposite for AF. I generally start questing it by 50 and most times have it completed done by 53. At the very least I quest the ones that I plan to use so I can start using them once I hit the lvl. Blm get alot of enfeeb gear that rdm doesn't. But blm has a pretty low skill rating so all that extra gear is really needed to stick stuff on xp mobs. RDM has an A+ (276) in Enfeebling Magic Skill, where BLM only has a C+ (230). The basic Enfeebling gear that most any BLM should have is Wizard's Coat/+1 (10/12), Igqira/Genie Tiara (10/11), and Igqira/Genie Lappa (10/11) for an additional 30-34 skill (putting us to 260/264 skill). Lol with the taru's i will be last to die so im not worried about -enm I generally die more than most BLMs in events such as Dynamis for the simple fact that I do a lot more DMG than most. While taru has more potential for DMG from native stats, if you gear correctly and know how to use the job race doesn't make an impact. When I go to salvage as BLM I go with the pure intention of doing the most DMG that I can while also taking care of adds/links and sub-curing. Parses generally would put BLM DMG at 5-7%. Most times when I'm on my game I'm doing 10-12% (the same as most secondary melee). I am glad to be Elvaan and I'm also glad to have HP merits as it's saved me several times. As has having a very good drain build and having a standing/DMG reduction/evasion build.

dont forget enfeeble torque and w 7- 8 merits 21-23 more enfeebling skill putting u in the 280's or so. pretty decent amount of skill atleast way more then i thought i could get as blm. I think but no 100% positive my rdm is sitting at like 310 or so enfeeble skill w gear. And by taru i meant the ones in our shell since they rack up more deaths then 3 shash's!

I still don't have enfeeb torque lol@me but with merits I am my own enfeeb torque <.<
Death is the price I willingly pay to do crazy damage. If shash walked around at 75% HP all the time he would die alot more often wouldn't you think? He is also elvaan which gives him like 300 more HP then I do. When casting I'm at 567 HP=75% of taru hp at 75. I bet Shash breaks 1k hp as drk. Drk get metal armor at least, blm get cloth or in the case of the weskit, some fish nets and bird skulls. Not the most protective of garments. Also I think blm should have a job ability like weapon bash except call it "Emergency flail". When used the blm hopelessly flails his staff about stunning the enemy for 1-2 seconds.
There is a lvl 70 earring "scorc's earring" Latent effect -10%damage taken. Latent turns on ON the hit that puts you into the "red". I used to use it for ballista to prevent the 1shots, very useful for avoiding death in a slot that wont give you much. I stopped using it when I got loq though, figured that if that last stun lands in time I might not die either lol /shrug
