Once again it's come time to redo my macros, but I'm not entirely certain how I wan to do them. I'm coming here to ask for suggestions and give a listing of what my macros are current set as. | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 0 | CTRL-8 | D2 | Shock | Burn | Choke | Burn | | | | | | ALT-8 | Retrace | | | Freeze II | | | | | | | | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 0 | CTRL-9 | Bio II | /assist | Blizzaga II | Flare | Blizzaga III | Fire III | Nuke Lite | Uggy | | Elemental Skill | ALT-9 | Erase | Cure III | Burst | | Thundaga III | Stone IV | Blizzard I/Thunder I | Water IV | Sleepga I | | | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 0 | CTRL-10 | Blizzard IV | Thunder IV | Fire IV | Aero IV | Blind | Bind | Stun | Nuke Gear | Enf. Gear | Standing | ALT-10 | Blizzard III | Thunder III | Drain | Aspir | misc (currently cookies) | Silence | Sleep I | Sleep II | Sleepga II | HMP | | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 0 | CTRL-1 | | Blink | Stoneskin | Aquaveil | | | | | | | ALT-1 | Raise | | Sneak | Deodorize | Invisible | | | | | |
Here's my current setup. Things to note: - Set 10 is my main set. - Blizzard/Thunder IV equip Sorc. Belt - Blizzard/Thunder III equip Ice/Thunder Obi - Drain/Aspir/Nuke Gear/HMP all have to be pressed 3x to get full gear equipped. - Nuke Lite equips max INT/MAB gear that I can from HMP set that allows me to keep full MP (used for first nuke). I'd like to include the following additional spells: - Flare II - Tornado II - Burst II - Flood II - Thundaga II - Firaga III - Firaga II Should my sleep macros also have my Enfeebling gear instead of my Dark Magic gear? Current Sleep Macros: - Pluto's Staff - Wizard's Tonban - Dark Earring - Wizard's Petasos +1 - Wizard's Coat +1 Current Enfeebling Gear Macro: - Wizard's Coat +1 - Wizard's Petasos +1 - Loquacious Earring - Goliard Clogs - Igqira Tiara - Igqira Lappa Current Standing Gear Macro: - Yigit Turban - Yigit Gomlek - Yigit Gages - Yigit Seraweels - Yigit Crackows - Terra's Staff Current Drain/Aspir Macros: - Pluto's Staff - Wizard's Tonban - Sorcerer's Gloves - Dark Torque - Abyssal Earring - Dark Earring - Goliard Clogs - Walahra Turban - Anrin Obi Current HMP Macros: - Morrigan's Cuffs (extra MP) - Goliard Clogs - Antivenom Earring - Beak Necklace +1 - Qiqirn Sash +1 - Relaxing Earring - Yigit Seraweels - Wizard's Coat +1 - Wizard's Petasos +1 - Pluto's Staff So, what suggestions do you have and are there any spells you'd recommend I macro that I don't have listed?

I would have to say yes. Sleep is an Enfeeb spell. I'm surprised you didn't have your enfeeble gear macro-ed to sleep, I don't see you get resisted to often on the spell.
You use 4 different macro pages, that seems like alot to me. I use 1 macro page. I personally don't like scrolling up and down threw the different pages when I'm fighting something. I also play on ps2 though, and use my macros with the R2 and L2, like a "trigger" of a gun(in a FPS). I scroll left and right on that 1 page hitting X when I get to what I want to do. I also use the list in alot of situations, But have all staff's and gear swaps covered.
I don't see a yigit or refresh piece macro? Do you have any refresh effect gear that you can/could equip when running around? I find thats real useful in Limbus and solo-ing. Yigit is not good for salvage in this purpose, but black cloak is a great alternitive. (unless you have relic body)

Often times I'll hit my Enfeebling Gear macro after I hit my sleep macro. I don't know why I just didn't combine them.
My Standing Gear macro (CTRL-0 on set 10) is full Yigit and a Terra's Staff.

Do you use windower? If so macros become so much better, if not then I can see why you have so many macro sets!
I only macro spells I cast on the go (as in solo or duo/PT play). Stuff like d2/retrace/aquaviel/sneak/invis I simply cast from the menu due to not needing any equip swap for those.
my macro set for blm simply looks like
CTRL -Stun- -Bind- -Gravity- -Sleep1- -Sleep2- -Sleepga1- -Sleepga2- -drain- -Aspir- -Elem. seal- ALT -Ice- -Thunder- -Wind- -Fire- -Water- -Stone- -+HMP- -Run- -Cure3- -Stoneskin-
CTRL -Choke- -Shock- -Burn- -Raps- -Frost- -Drown- -Bio2- -Poison2-
Not many macros eh? guess I have the windower to thank for that. my elelemental macros simply look like
Line1: //nukedamage Line2:///Nukeskill Line3:///NukeMP line4:///Obi
The command to load a macro script from windower is "//xxx" X being the name you gave the equip swap. Having it set up like this, I simply determine which setup I need to be using for the situation at hand and make sure it only has two "//" in front of the name, while everything else has three. This will cause the command with only two "//" to fire and the rest to not. Also if the day matches up with the nukes I am using, I simply go into the macro and change the obi line from three to two "//"
Sleep, Bind, poison2 should be purely enfeeble/magic acc skill put on. Blind/para/slow you will still want the majority of enfeeble skill on, maybe some of the corresponding stat to boost potency as well.
For my dark magic spells such as drain/aspir/stun, I equip all haste/dark magic gear. Goliard body, swift belt, walh. turban, loq earring, plus standard dark magic gear such as af legs, relic hands, sea cape, goliard clogs ect. Nice lowering recast on drain/stun/aspir in a lot of situations.
For me, I only really need gear swaps on my macros, I'm very used to casting from menu while solo and tend to know where the spells are in the menu and how to get to them the fastest, I find scrolling through macro sets up and down tends to slow me down or makes my solo/duo play a bit more sloppy.
I agree with fnord about a "run" macro. Equip -damage reduction gear, run speed, and refresh.
Try to hit 114mnd with stoneskin macro if you have cap enhancing.
Long story short, Use windower macros!

Nope, don't use it and never will. It's just not my deal. I only macro spells I cast on the go (as in solo or duo/PT play). Stuff like d2/retrace/aquaviel/sneak/invis I simply cast from the menu due to not needing any equip swap for those. I have these macro'd for simplicity. D2/retrace also have haste gear macro'd in. Currently I have these on two separate macro sets and I plan to change them to all fit on the same one. my macro set for blm simply looks like CTRL -Stun- -Bind- -Gravity- -Sleep1- -Sleep2- -Sleepga1- -Sleepga2- -drain- -Aspir- -Elem. seal- ALT -Ice- -Thunder- -Wind- -Fire- -Water- -Stone- -+HMP- -Run- -Cure3- -Stoneskin- CTRL -Choke- -Shock- -Burn- -Raps- -Frost- -Drown- -Bio2- -Poison2- I plan to include more of the DoTs eventually, but for now I only use Bio II, Shock, Burn, Choke. I almost never use Sleepga I so it's on a separate macro pallet, but I use Sleep I often for solo. Drain and Aspir are also cornerstones for my way. I rarely use Elemental Seal so I just activate it from the /ja menu. Water and Stone are virtually never used also, so I'll probably put them on a separate set. Sleep, Bind, poison2 should be purely enfeeble/magic acc skill put on. Blind/para/slow you will still want the majority of enfeeble skill on, maybe some of the corresponding stat to boost potency as well. I currently don't even think I have Poison II macro'd but then again most of the mobs I use DoT for are immune to it or highly resistant. I'd read that Sleep was majorly a Dark Magic spell and so Dark Magic Skill should be used over Enfeebling Magic Skill if you had the chance. This is how mine is as well and has been from close to day one. I followed a lot of Kaeko's setup. Drain/Aspir Macros include: - Pluto's Staff - Wizard's Tonban - Sorcerer's Gloves - Dark Torque - Abyssal Earring - Dark Earring - Goliard Clogs - Walahra Turban - Anrin Obi Currently my Stun Macro only equips Wizard's Coat +1 and Aquilo's Staff. For me, I only really need gear swaps on my macros, I'm very used to casting from menu while solo and tend to know where the spells are in the menu and how to get to them the fastest, I find scrolling through macro sets up and down tends to slow me down or makes my solo/duo play a bit more sloppy. For the most part macros make it easier for me and finding stuff in the list usually ends up with wrong gear equipped when the spell is fired. Currently the only real time I use the menu is when casting -ga IIIs that aren't Blizzaga or Thundaga. I'm am wondering about making a "Return to Home" macro (something not as used like ALT-7 or CTRL-0) that is always available so in the event that I'm not on my home set I can hit it for quickness. Currently My macros span 4 sets and Drain/Aspir/Nuke/HMP span 2 additional sets (yes, for a total of 6). I agree with fnord about a "run" macro. Equip -damage reduction gear, run speed, and refresh. Yea, had this one for a long time too. Currently it's just Yigit and Terra's Staff, but eventually I hope to change the gear around depending on what I'm able to obtain. Try to hit 114mnd with stoneskin macro if you have cap enhancing. From my base Nuke Set I have one Macro for Stoneskin that changes gear to up it to 109 MND. I've been too lazy to get the last 5 MND to macro in with a 2nd macro. Long story short, Use windower macros! Sorry, never going to happen.

To clear up the whole sleep is dark magic based. . .
It is a dark elemental spell yes, not dark magic SKILL.
Clearly blm and drk would be perfered event sleepers if dark magic had any impact on sleeps compared to enfeeble skill.
My guess is when you read "dark magic spell" It was referring to dark element.
Also, Stun is a VERY low resist spell. I assume you have read/seen/done things with nin/drk, or rdm/drk or anything /drk.
And stun is a dark magic skill/thunder element spell.
You really do not need any skill for stun, as if something resists it tends to be one of those "random resist mobs" or Immune.
For stun, it should be thunder/jupiter's staff then Haste > Dark magic skill > magic acc.
Sneaking a question in here since I know you are reading it, completely unrelated to this topic. Zhayolm remnants 2nd floor, after clearing one room and the mamool ja, does this unlock all 3 rooms? or do you have to spawn/kill the mamool ja in each room and unlock them one by one?

Have to kill the mamool in the room you arrive in to unlock the other 3 rooms.

Great advice here. I noticed a huge difference in my stun resist rates and duration when I started using HQ thunder staff and dark skill with it.

I noticed a huge difference in my stun resist rates and duration when I started using HQ thunder staff and dark skill with it. Do you think it'd be worthwhile to use 2 macros for Stun (a double press) to equip Dark Magic Skill also? Currently I have Jupiter's Staff, Nashira Crackows, Walahra Turban, and Loqac. Earring and that takes up all my spaces. Try to hit 114mnd with stoneskin macro if you have cap enhancing. From my base Nuke Set I have one Macro for Stoneskin that changes gear to up it to 109 MND. I've been too lazy to get the last 5 MND to macro in with a 2nd macro. Good news. I unlazy'd myself and set SS into 2 macros now to get over 114 MND with. I also picked up a Morrigan's Robe to push me over the top.
