NovaRain - My First Real Attempt at a Racing Bird

I decided it was finally time to raise a racing/fast bird and actually wanted to spend the time to do it right. Here's my recount of my latest attempt (first real attempt).

I only feed Vomp Carrots (usually 3 to get it to completely full) and make it Carry Packages for the care plan. I also take it on walks (long or short to learn stories as well as increase stats).

I also did Camp Kweh whenever possible to increase stats a bit further.

Around day 50 I switched to a Carrying Packages plan to raise my Discernment and Receptivity. I also started using Zegham instead of Vomp Carrots.

You can only win 1 race a RL day.

Here's a list of races as taken from the Chocobo Racing Guide. Races in red are ones that I've won. The Passhow Circuit was added in a recent update iirc.

Being that I don't have Gallop or Canter yet I probably won't go the furthest with this bird. As it is now she has Auto-Regen so I won't be able to get both of them. In all likelihood I'll end up raising another bird for my real racer.

You can do one official race every 24 hours, but for the big races(those with the best pay off) its best to wait till your bird is at least rank 3 dsc so it doesn't use an item at the wrong time. Even if you have a great bird, it doesn't mean you will always win, especially in the high tiers of the circuit. Nothing says loss like four bombs going off one after the other.
