I completed the full Morrigan's set the other day and decided it was time to test exactly how much better (or worse) it was than my current setup (AF+1/Yigit feet).
Relevant stats:
Wizard's Petasos +1 (AF+1): INT+5
Morrigan's Coronal: INT+5 MACC+5 (Set bonus: MAB+5--total, not per piece)
Yigit Crackows: INT+3 MAB+2
Morrigan's Pigaches: INT+3 (Set bonus: MAB+5--total, not per piece)
My standard gear:
HQ Staves (Vulcan's, Aquilo's, Auster's, Terra's, Jupiter's, Neptune's, Pluto's)
Bugard Strap +1
Phantom Tathlum
Wizard's Petasos +1/Morrigan's Coronal
Enlightened Chain/Uggalepih Pendant
Abyssal Earring
Moldavite Earring
Morrigan's Robe
Morrigan's Cuffs
Tamas Ring
Genius Ring
Prism Cape
Sorcerer's Belt/Hyorin Obi/Rairin Obi
Morrigan's Slops
Yigit Crackows/Morrigan's Pigaches
Current Relevant Merits:
Elemental Skill: 8/8
Ice Potency: 5/5
Thunder Potency: 5/5
This testing went on over a couple hours. Most of the AF+1/Yigit tests were done on Lightsday or Darksday. The Full Morrigan's tests were done mostly on Firesday, with some on Lightning and Iceday.
All tests were done on Om'phuabo at the Tele-Mea area. Those that I checked were all VT.
Ok, now on to the Results:
Discussion/Conclusion:
First off, 15-18 nukes is not enough to get a reliable set of data. It's quit possible that I could go 100 nukes and get only 1 resist (which would make the average DMG per nuke much higher).
Secondly, note that these tests were done on VT Om'phuabos and these aren't exactly a typical HNM mob. There is a good chance that on a HNM or even just a higher IT mob that my resists and DMG would be different. Note also that Phuabos are water-based mobs. I chose Phuabos because they are relatively safe for me to solo.
With the one 1/2 resist I had for Blizzard IV my average nukes show AF+1/Yigit to give better results, however if we take that singe resist out of the equation suddenly my average for Morrigan's jumps up to 1,128 (vs 1,094).
You'll notice that full Morrigan's on average gives from 23 to 55 more DMG per nuke.
DMG Difference of Full Morrigan's - AF+1/Yigit
While my testing shows Full Morrigan's being the winner do note that several factors can influence this:
- Base INT
- Merits
- INT/MND of mob
- Resist rate (specifically do you need to be over the 320 skill/120 INT line?)
As an Elvaan I've always been more in favor of INT over MAB for the simple fact of accuracy, but these tests show that even with less INT from Full Morrigan's the added MACC or just my native MACC allows them to work better overall than AF+1/Yigit.
I'm not saying there won't be mobs that I'll need to buff up on more INT or more Elemental Skill, but at least for Om'phuabos Full Morrigan's shows to be the better setup.
