Does anyone else feel its kind of BS that SE is making you purchase this $9.99 security item in order to get in game content of 80 more inventory slots which should just be updated game content for everyone? Total crap ... not sure how they are getting away with this stuff... I will be giving them a piece of my mind I was planning on buying the security token anyways but that is still crap imho to do that to players who don't want it ... am I wrong? thoughts? For those not in the loop : here is the linky www.playonline.com/cis/us/

The idea of paying for a greater amount of security for your account does not seem out of line to me. What does seem like a pile of poopie, is the Mog satchel. I play on ps2 lol I have no risk of having my account hacked because Im not retarded. So the only reason I would want this is FOR the extra space itself, and has nothing to do with the true point of paying extra in the first place, which is extra security.
They might as well just offer High end gear while there at it. Dalmy for $20? /sigh Like so many other things in this world, He who has the money and is willing to spend it always get ahead, over the people who can't afford to do the same. Reminds me of this dude I know, who was a HUGE ever quest player when that was in its prime. One day we were talking, he says to me "Dude I just bought the best sword in the game for $50 bucks on Ebay I RULE" I thought to myself, no your a moron. Why play a game you have to pay extra to get the perks? This opens a line of "pay to play" type options, Look a new job! you want it? gimme $50. Want Less AH Tax? Pay more on your bill!
/Bad SE BAD!!

But, not everyone plays on a secure system - there are enough PC players and other players at risk that they should offer this and since it wasn't available with the start of the game (which, as I understand things, it totally should have been and that's their bad) and in order to get people to come on board, and to avoid more account theft, they want to offer a "carrot" of extra space which in the end becomes a double benefit. They can't just offer this to PC users, that wouldn't be fair, so offering it to everyone is wise.
Also, there are conditions under which system users (PS2 and Xbox) may not have the protection they want - maybe they live with room-mates who could get on their system and delete their char with a stored password if they're late on doing the dishes, or an insane girlfriend with a vendetta complex. A changing password makes these people safer too.
I'm not for buying in game advantages, just the opposite actually, but the it is being used as an added incentive to get people to become as password safe as they could possibly be, and that isn't entirely a bad thing. Stuff like the Tidal Talisman - that I'll break out the pitchforks and torches for, this not quite so much because there is at least a rational defense for it.
