MMORPG FF14 for PS3 and PC Anounced!!!

I've invested a large chunk of my life in FFXI. Granted nothing lasts forever, but I didn't want it to end this soon.

Star, my friend and i just saw this and i just came here to post that link.. haha. but im pumped.. it is supposedly a squeal, so i assume somehow they might incorporate ffxi into it. but how long did you want it to last? it's been 7 years o.o

With any luck, they learned from the many, MANY mistakes they've made with FFXI, and it's replacement will be new and refreshing.

I haven't played FFXI since 2007 I think. Hearing this news out of no where has gotten me excited the same why FFXI did in 2004. Also, it will probably come out after or the same time I graduate from college (Dec 2010). My wife said she wants to play too which is awesome.

I know what it feels like to have the next game in a series come out before getting one's fill of the current game. Just keep playing the current game until you have had your fill.

Square has already stated that this game will replace FFXI as its flagship MMO only. When it comes out it will run alongside FFXI as another game on PoL, much as you can also play Tetra Master through PoL. So no worries, FFXI isnt going away, but support for it on the development side may not be AS strong, and some of the player base may flock over as well for a while.

Still, interesting stuff. Either the World or the Goddess of the world is named Eorzea. Humes Elvaan Mithra Galka and Tarus seem to be returning (Though slightly altered, Galkas dont have tails, Mithra seem to have horns, or I am just seeing things.)

We will see how it plays out for these two to co exist,

Star, my gf wants to start playing if i teach her after we move out.. so im very exceited to see this game and play it. especially but not only cause its ps3 formatted, but because i have been hearing it is a continuation of ffxi. somehow i think they will be linked.

FF14 and FF11 are non related i read. It doesnt take place in Vana'diel, the races ARENT the same but ARE similar, and... there was 1 more thing, but i cant think of it. I believe i also read FFXI char will NOT be linkable to FF14. Kinda sucks but nothing to do about it.

The Big Question: Is there any possibility of porting Final Fantasy XI characters to Final Fantasy XIV?

Sounds all intresting, Im hopeing the battle system will be differant and a little more better than the first one, but in away I supose thay need to change the battle system because of all the other MMO's that are comeing out in the same year so there gona have a tough competition with the likes off Star-wars The Old Republic and the Star Trek mmo so thay do need to step up there game.
CAN'T WAIT FOR FFXIII tho :)
