3xNIN merit PT wut?

Was seeking on COR last night and after 1 PT that never started due too JP not being able to find a BRD (wtfJPbutton?) and like 2 hours later finally got an invite.

Guy says "I'm building a merit PT, but it's not gonna be conventional, do you want in?"
"My ideal setup is NIN/WARx3 BRD BRD COR."

I was like "lol"

I was like "seriously?"

he says "Yeah I got a few friends that are all interested in trying it" and a random JP BRD apparently liked how big this guys balls were so he joined too.

So we literally went out 3NIN/WAR 2BRD/NIN me COR/WHM. Was a pretty fun PT tbh. They wrecked shit, healing was barely necessary and MP was never an issue, we even killed Nis Puk, went over chain 100 etc, ran out of mobs at one point (skipped skoffins)

Oh yeah this was at Mamools too. <-lol. I didn't bother to check exact exp/hour but excluding breaks and initial wipe to Nis on an accidental pull we were probably 25k+ hour or so, guy said we parsed higher, but I was kinda skeptical on his numbers. I hit over 5 merits lol so I was happy.

You could get any melee/NIN x3 with 2 BRDs and a COR and get good xp. The key wasn't so much the negating DMG, but the buffs from the BRDs and COR. Why do you think 2 melee with 3 buffers and 1 healer works so well?

Since the 2h buff, people think that dual wielders can't be good dd's in merits for some reason.

Damage mitigation is a large part of why you did so well but killing mobs fast is much more important.

I'm not saying it's not about the buffers. It was just really interesting to see ppl actually willing to do the whole thing. I'm sure those NIN had a blast finally doing something like that since they all had WAR or SAM jobs as well but were sick of meriting 2H only.

We need to get a pt with me as MNK/WAR, 2 BRD, COR, DNC, and another DD or MNK/WAR, DNC, BRD x2, healer, DD and give it a go. I bet we could pull some really good xp and have some fun.

I'd recommend DD, DD, brd, rdm, dnc, (brd/cor). You need haste spell+double march + haste samba to get close to haste cap, dropping any one of those is going to have a huge effect. The final buffer slot would either be double atk from brd, or atk+xp from cor.
