Just a thought, as I have only just taken the time out to go though my possible configurations on the menu bar of FF. You can do some cool stuff on there ! for example I found a button that put the dmg/miss info above the mobs head and not as scrolling text. Just like in the previous PS games, i admit this isn't a good thing to have all the time as information is king, but for farming when you dont give a monkey's what your dmg is or if the mob missed you or hit you for 1 it rocks ! You only see the good stuff, like ls chat , and special actions. Soooo much better... imo anyhow... and... the question is does anyone have any other cool custom tips you can share as I still think i can make my set up, and therefore game, better somehow.... hmmmm thx in advance

I have found that perhaps the most useful thing you can do is change the background color for the text and menu fields. I suppose this kind of depends on the colors you have set for different things, but in some places, such as a Dunes or Qufim, the environment around you makes it difficult to read some things, or at least it did for me. You can pick from 8 different window schemes, and they have some dark ones that are perfect for places like the Dunes and Qufim. It has a tendency to cut off your view of your feet, but you usually don't need to see them anyways.
Another thing I spent considerable time setting up were the different colors for different texts. I had been having trouble distinguishing party text from linkshell text, and a few other things. So I went in and customized all my texts so that certain things stand out more. For example, LS chat shows up in BRIGHT YELLOW text, and my damage shows up in BRIGHT BLUE. Damage I take is BRIGHT RED while damage other party members take is a loverly pink. This helps me keep things clearer. I changed a few other things around too. It's kind of nice just to spice up the screen a little bit imo. It does take a little bit of time to get used to, but now when I look at Stri's or Bas' screen, I get confused because I'm used to my setup.

I've also changed the colors quite a bit. It really helps distinguish who's doing what. I found it most useful for WHM so I could find out when I needed to remove certain effects. Also, filters are gods... Cutting out other's dmg and misses and whatnot can really keep the clutter down.
