NPC point system is pretty cool. I started out with about 20k points with mine. I bought her some spectacles with them. You can also upgrade their armor and give them wierd weapons like moogle rod.

After a little over 2 hrs of farming on EP's I got more than 6k points; so they arent too hard to get.
