teletaxi linkshell

The other day I heard somebody shout about a new linkshell, to me it sounded like a good idea.

Here's my understanding of how it works:

It's a business linkshell as opposed to a social one. Basically it facilitates the teletaxi business, & you only use it if you're selling or need a teleport. The whms that sell the teleports are sackholders and general customers get a pearl.

with info.

It seemed like a good idea to me, I like the idea of activity-specific linkshells (though too many of course would kill your inv. space) but especially for people that can't ride the airship it seems like this would be useful.

Just wanted to share that with everybody.

I was actually given a pearl for a linkshell such as this. After equiping it and trying to get ahold of someone about five times, each time searching the linklist and finding no one, I just trashed it.

I have heard of people having similar problems with this linkshell. It seems like it would be a really great idea, but people would actually have to be on it for it to work, and I just can't imagine that it would be a consistent way to find a tele. I might be nice for finding tele's in the 3 main cities, but in Jeuno, 99.999% of the time, there is someone shouting to give teles, so you probably wouldn't really need a linkshell to find one.

yeah that's a good point i guess it's something that would have to grow past a certian size to be consistantly useful.

I actually think it would work and would be a great gil-maker, but it would have to approached very business like. You would have to have people "working" for you and be online at all times to raise credibility. While making gil by the boatload is good, I think taking on such a venture would take away all the fun from the game. Who wants to be on just to teleport?

yea, i got one of these pearls waaaaaay back in the day. i thanked the guy and proptly disposed of it after about a week. as stated before, no one was ever on. hehe, for a while though, when i had my project mayhem pearl, i used to pop on there...chat for maybe two minutes, then ask if anyone in *insert city* could tele. and it would always be free cos i was a shell member. i guess they all thought i just didn't play too much
