On August 22 the update for the chocobo raising finally came out. Here is the basic info on how to get your own chocobo to abuse on your long journeys across Vanadiel: www.playonline.com/pcd/update/ff11us/20060822VOL2B1/detail.htmlAfter reading this, heed that last sentence: It was stated in the June 19 Topics that a chocobo’s appearance would change along with its attributes. Due to an extension of the testing period, these changes will now be implemented in a following version update. You can buy eggs from NPCs and Shops. I bought mine from a mithra girl down the stairs from the AH in the Gardens in Jueno. I'm sure there are more. Happy Chocobo Raising! ~Star

Well my chocobo hatched over the weekend, so I went out for a walk twice to build my chocobo's strength and fed it some greens. I named my chocobo Hermes Star. I named it Hermes after the talking motorcycle in the anime Kino's Journey, and Star after me Keep in mind that you can only pick your chocobo's name from a list, but the list is very long. You can pick a first and last name. I'll try to make a journal type thing saying what I did to raise my little Hermes. Stay tuned for more entries...

Today I watched Hermes and took her for a walk. She was alittle hungry so I fed her a Gryshal (sp) Green. She ate it weakly. Then she was almost ful and I fed her a Sand'Oria Carrot, that she ate weakly, and then she became completely full. I made a 4 day plan that included 1 day of music, 1 day of rest, 1 day walk, then 1 day of rest.
That's all for today.

Well, today my chocobo finally grew out of chick stage and is now a young chocobo! I can have her play or excercise alone or with other chocobos. For money I can have Hermes deliver packages to improve strength. I made a schedule of three days walking, one day rest, one day listen to music, one day excercise alone, one day rest.
Hermes was not full or hungry, so I didn't feed her anything.

Ok, today I noticed that Hermes' feather were showing hints of white on the back feathers. I'm not sure if this is a sign that she will turn white, but she met a chocobo while walking around that had hints of black is its feathers. Hermes raced against it and won. I fed her a Sandorian carrot and gyr. green. I can;t wait to see what color she will be! Also I noticed two ppl on the roof of the Sandy Chocobo stalls. Has anyone else seen this?

Well, I have been back for a few weeks and when I first logged back on Hermes reached the old-timer age of 129 days before being "retired". My new chocobo is EmpressHermes, because my 2nd chocobo just happened to also be a female. I will continue this journal when EmpressHermes reaches the same age as HermesStar did before I took my 3 month break.
