CHAINS OF PROMATHIA MISSIONS

When you finish your third Promyvion BCNM (Dem, Mea, and Holla) - The Mothercrystals Mission, you will be automatically warped to Lufaise Meadows. This gets you a cut-scene and starts Chapter 2 of Chains of Promathia.

After you have started Chapter 2, you will be able to use the Swirling Green Vortexes in Valkurm Dunes and Quifm Isle.
Valkurm Dunes -=> Lufaise Meadows
Quifm Isle -=> Misareaux Coast

You will then be able to walk to the Tavnazian Safehold, where the next CoP missions (Mission: 2-1: An Invitation West) await. There are five areas to see: Lufaise Meadows, Misareaux Coast, Phomiuna Aqueducts, Sealion's Den, and Tavnazian Safehold.

Mission: 2-1: An Invitation West
"You have woken up in some unknown land, only to find your amulet has been stolen by a group of three Tarutaru. You think they may have run off somewhere to the west." Once you have rested up, head west to (F-10). You will cross a ravine via a bridge and will eventually come to Tavnazian Stronghold. Along the way, be sure to avoid the assorted mobs if you are below level 50, as they can and will aggro. Upon entering Tavnazian Stronghold, you will be treated to another cutscene and will be able to begin the next mission in the chapter.

Mission: 2-2: The Lost City
NOTE: Before doing the this mission, complete the quest "Unforgiven" quest which starts with Elysia (G-10) to obtain a map of Tavnazian Stronghold and the surrounding areas.

"According to its inhabitants, the Tavnazian Safehold was carved out of solid rock by survivors of the Great War. Speak with the city's inhabitants to learn more of their grave situation." Head to second floor and return to where you pick up Elysia's lost hairpin (K-10). Open the Walnut Door and speak to Despachiaire to trigger a cutscene. He proceeds to gives you some background on the history of Tavnazian Stronghold.

Return to the circular room with the bridge and go down to the bottom level. Proceed to (I-7) and open the Sewer Entrance doors to receive another cutscene. During the cutscene, Justinius will speak of a Minotaur and of a "magic spell that limits the strength of the monsters" that roam in Phomiuna Aqueducts and the same spell limits the strength of anyone who enters. You and your newfound companion, Nag'molada offer to rid the Aqueducts of the Minotaur. When asked if you are ready to accept the challenge, answer yes to finish the cutscene. From there, you are ready to assemble your party and enter the Aqueducts to find the Minotaur and dispose of it (which is the goal of CoP Mission 2-3).

The Phomiuna Aqueducts are level capped at level 40, so be sure everyone is properly equipped.

Mission: 2-3: Distant Beliefs

EVERYONE BRING: 2 stacks of holy waters, four Yagudo drinks, and at least a half-dozen hi-potions, stack of silent oil, Instant Warp Scroll, THF with Thief Tools or a Living Key or Skeleton Key.

"You have volunteered to journey into the Phomiuna Aqueducts to defeat the Minotaur. It appears that Nag'molada has set off ahead of you." While an alliance is helpful, it is not required for this mission.

Everyone in the party should bring at LEAST 2 stacks of holy waters, a couple of Yagudo drinks, and at least a half-dozen hi-potions (even mages). Holy Water may not always remove Doom status so you will have to spam Holy Waters until either it is removed or you die. Additionally, you can bring a Re-Raise scroll. This is an area where the WHM cannot be relied upon to keep the party alive. The Stegotaurs (and Minotaur) have an AoE poison that is pretty bad (10-15 damage per tick) and lasts quite a while. By coming prepared with these items, you can ensure the WHM (and BLM/WHM) are not over-taxed on keeping the party alive. This is not to say WHM's cannot do their job well in this area. All I am saying is you will make the WHM's life a lot easier (and probably survive a lot longer while the WHM is healing/cursna/etc other PT members) if you come prepared. I have also read that there is a in the Store Room; and if you click on it, you will get a map of the Aqueducts.

Sneak will work to keep from getting aggro on all mobs except the Taurus-family mobs (they have true sight). There is no reason for keeping Invisible up while you are here. Escape will work in here, so this area is classified as a Dungeon and not an outdoor area. You time spent in the Aqueducts can be reduced significantly if everyone brings an Instant Warp Scroll or have a BLM 40+ in your party (with Warp II, of course). The pugils and Diremites don't aggro. I have heard that the Fomor don't aggro unless you've killed them before (kind of like Tonberry hate); so, it probably best to have Sneak up for them just in case.

Mobs in this area start checking at easy prey and go all the way up to IT++. That said, the level range of this area is probably 35-50. When fighting Taurus-family mobs (dinosaurs) and the Minotaur, turn your back when it does the ability "Mortal Ray". This is the Doom attack and if you get it, you have 10 seconds to use a Holy Water before dying. Mortal Ray is classified as a "Gaze" type attack, so it won't affect you if your not looking at the mob.

Taurus-family mobs use Back Swish. This AOE is a frontal-attack AoE and will only hit people that it is facing. Taurus-family mobs use Frightful Roar, which is an AoE Defense Down attack. Stegotaurs can also drop a piece of Spruce Lumber (rare/ex). Taurus-family mobs will link with other Taurus-family mobs.

The Minotaur spawns at (J-3) on the second map. I am told it spawns in other parts of both maps... but this is where we found it. The Minotaur fight is not a BCNM-style fight, so an alliance can take this on. Be warned that the Minotaur has a big aggro radius and once it aggroes someone, it will summon the entire PT of the person aggroed to him. You will not get a cutscene once the Minotaur is dead. Additionally, your mission log will not update. If you return to Tavnazian Stronghold and speak to Justinius, he will not believe you killed the Minotaur unless he hears from Nag'molada as well. You do not need to talk to Justinius after you kill the Minotaur. You can go straight to the Iron Door. This will save you a 2nd trip through the Aqueducts.

Bring a THF along with you and ensure he/she has Thief Tools (or a Living Key or Skeleton Key) to pick the lock on the Iron Door at (G-8). Otherwise you will have to camp Fomor mobs (shadow versions of the assorted jobs) for a Bronze Key to unlock the door. After passing through the Iron Door, proceed to (C-8) and check the Wooden Stairs. A cutscene with Nag'molada will occur.

After the cutscene, climb the ladder and follow the hallway to reach a room with targetable oil lamps. Along the way to the room, you will encounter two Taurus mobs in the hallway. It is important you only pull ONE at a time, as both are IT++ and will decimate your PT. On the other side of the door, you will encounter more Fomor mobs, so have Sneak up before opening the door. Once inside, go around the shelving and hit the to open a hidden door. This leads you to the candle room.

The candle room puzzle is dependant upon the current Vanadiel day. For reference, here is the elemental chart:
Fire is strong to Ice
Ice is strong to Wind
Wind is strong to Earth
Earth is strong to Lightning
Lightning is strong to Water
Water is strong to Fire
Light and Dark are equal to each other

In candle room (E-8 on second map), press the candles that represent the element of the current Vanadiel day and the element that is weak to the current Vanadiel day (example: Iceday would be Ice candle and Wind candle) to open the hidden door in the center of the passage. The hidden door will only remain open for a short time (10-15 seconds I believe), so be quick. Open one Ornate Gate and then check the second Ornate Gate to get a cutscene.

RECAP OF THE PATH (not listed is the traveling up and down ladders):
1. When you enter, you are at J11 (by Tavnazian Safehold label)
2. Make your way to the octagon room at G7
3. You want to go F6 in this room; to the tunnel not shown on the map
4. Head north, the tunnel will turn left (east), then right (north again)
5. Head north until you reach the T intersection at E4(also not shown)
6. Turn right (east) until you enter the octagon room at K10 (shown on map)
7. Drop down into the octagon room when the path is clear
8. Head to the large room at J8
9. Head to the North West corner and out the (not shown) tunnel
10. Follow the westward tunnel until it turns north and ends up at a T intersection at H5
11. Turn right (east) until you run into another octagonal room (also not shown) at K5
12. Head north K4 until the T intersection at K3
13. Turn left (west) and head partly down the hall
14. Around the next right is the Minotaur
15. The party should rest until full for the fight
16. Head towards the Minotar; your party/alliance will get "Drawn in".. a bit disorientating
17. If you manage to kill the Minotar, head back the way you came
18. That's East on the hall to K3
19. South to octagonal room at K4
20. South to the hall at K5
21. West all the way to G5
22. South to large room at G6
(if you don't have a THF with you, you will need to kill Fomor is the room E5 until you get key)
23. Open Iron Gate at G8
24. Head off to D8
25. Once you climb the stairs, head north
26. The hall turns eastward to the Store Room
27. Once in the Store Room, find the and go to the torches
28. After the correct torches are clicked enter the hidden door
29. Click on Ornate Gate for Cutscene
30. Warp out

Mission: 2-4: An Eternal Melody

"You must meet with the young Elvaan leader of the Tavnazian Patrol and have her return your amulet. You must also try to find a woman named Ulmia..." After speaking with Justinius to finish Mission 2-3, head up the ramp and check the Walnut Door at K-7. After the cutscene, head to Misareaux Coast and check the Dilapidated Gate at I-11. Once the cutscene is done, head back to Tavnazian Stronghold and go to the circular room with the bridge. A cutscene will commence and this mission will be done.

4 Quests Starting in Tavnazian Safehold:

Unforgiven - Elysia (G-10) - Map of Tavnazia

Elysia (G-10) wishes you to recover a hairpin she thinks she may have dropped while shopping. She can be found as you enter the circular room with the bridge by following the path to the right and entering the 2nd hall on your right. After speaking with her, go back the way you came, take another right and follow the ramp up. There is a door just to your right as reach the top of the ramp, go through it, and up the next ramp at the end of the hall. Hang yet another right, follow the path all the way south. At the end of this corridor is a small chamber (K-8/9). Examine the on the ground near Korbi-Marobi. Return to Elysia. She now wishes you to distract Pradiulot while she prays. He can be found at the west end of the altar/bridge room at H-9. Speak with him, and after a brief cutscene, you will be rewarded with the map of the Tavnazia (Misereaux Coast, Lufaise Meadows, Tavnazian Stronghold).

A Bitter Past - Frescheque (H - 8)

To start it talk to Frescheque at (H-8) of the 3rd floor of Tavnazian Stronghold. Then talk to Rominey at (J-7) also on the third floor. Last, talk to Equette on the second floor at (I-9) near the Altar of the Dawn. Now head out to Lufaise Meadows. Go to (I-8), near the Leremieu Lagoon. There you will find a . Once clicking on it, you will spawn two Orc NMs. It could probably be soloed +55, maybe a little less. Check the again after the NMs are defeated. Now go back to Frescheque and get a Yinyang Lorgnette. Talk to Equette (I-9) to get an extra cutscene, that concludes the sad story of this quest.

A Hard Day's Knight - Quelveuiat (I - 10) 2100 Gil

Enter the Tavnazian Safehold and proceed straight through the door and across the bridge and talk to Quelveuiat. He will ask you some questions, say Yes to both. He will then tell you to go to the lookout tower and report back what you see. To exit walk back across the bridge towards the exits (4 of them). Take the first exit on your right.

Once in Lufaise Meadows cross the bridge and head south to (H-10). You should then see a lookout tower. First clear any orcs from down below as they will link, including stonechuckers. Then climb the stairs and target the " and talk to it. It will say you see nothing, then you feel a murderous presence. The NM Splinterspine Grukjuk will spawn at the bottom of the stairs and start shooting you. It appears to be an Orcish RNG type.

After the fight go back to the Safehold and talk to Quelveuiat again. He will talk to you then give you 2100 gil and change title to "Tavnazian Squire". It is highly recommended that you get a map first.

The Call of the Sea - Equette (I - 9) - Memento Muffler

First talk to Equette (I-9), you should get a cutscene about a sea shell. After the cutscene travel up to the second floor of the Safehold and locate Anteurephiaux at (J-8). Quest should be in the quest log now.

You are now to travel to (K-12) in Misareaux Coast there should be a at the coast. After examining the a NM Crab named Bloody Coffin will pop (about 3x bigger then other crabs in the area). Its job is RDM, it will cast Regen, Enwater, Paralyze, Haste, and Diaga II. I solo'd as a 75 RDM, it's a toughie, it seems it has a phalanx that can't be Dispeled, also Shell IV (Proven because Spirits Within @ 100% TP only did 37 damage) (Enspells also only did 4-8 add affect).

After defeating it examine the mark again and get a Key item, return to Anteurephiaux at the Safehold now.
After the cutscene with Anteurephiaux, got back to Equette, you receive a Momento Muffler as a reward.
