www.playonline.com/ff11us/polnews/news20541.shtmlPosting this here for anyone who may miss it/not check POL site. tl;dr: Servers down for 1 week+ starting today(sunday, mar. 13), f2p in april, date for servers coming back tba. It sucks, but I understand their reasoning considering all the shit that's going down there.

Wtf am I going to do for a whole week?
Guess I could finally do all the cleaning I've been putting off or I can catch up on any movies I've missed. Hell, I could even start exercising. But damn....

Bleh... I was supposed to finish 85 Gambanteinn today. I really hope this doesn't last more than a week, but it could be a full month before we're back on ffxi.

The reason is to try to conserve power because of the failing power plants. To be honest, I'm more than okay with sacrificing some of my FFXI time to allow them to recover. The fact that they are also refunding our money for April is incredibly generous.
In the meantime we can plan for what we are going to do after the server merge, what type of recruiting we are planning, and other things. Worst case scenario you can all go out and buy Pokemon Black/White. It's really fun.

Sunday I watched several episodes of Eureka 3.5. Today I'm watching more of the same. I also plan to work on some backdated FFXI paperwork and do some more apartment/computer cleaning. I'm hoping to get all my old computer data consolidated and organized. Hell, I might even reorder all my movies (I have several thousand) or even build a new FFXI system (I've been considering getting a new one for awhile now). Ultimately, it seems most of my weekly goals involve cleaning of some sort (computers, apartment, goals, ...).

I've been watching a lot of tv myself, also been playing with my old nintendo emulators(snes,n64 mainly); that's likely to get old soon though.

Been watching a lot of TV shows, probably going to work on the naming scheme for my collection. Had an opportunity to stay a few extra hours at work today, so I took it. Redid the empyrean weapon static spreadsheet. Depending how long this downtime is, I might work on 100% completion in FF13. Bought crisis core a few months ago and still haven't played it, so that's something else to keep me busy.

Damn that sucks. I guess I can play some of the Wii games I got this past year and haven't had a chance to touch yet. Super Mario Galaxy 2 looks pretty good as well as that new Super Mario Bros. remake. I also have Starcraft 2 for the PC, which is pretty good but gets boring fast. If anybody else has it, let me know, and we can play sometime this week.
Anyways, I heard some pretty bad news on the TV earlier today. They were saying that Japan is now considering "rolling blackouts" possibly for the next six weeks, which is a lot longer than the minimum time SE said of one week... I really hope that's not the case, but they're going to do whatever they have to for public health and safety.

I'd consider buying a Wii just so I could own that game. I beat the game with an old roommate in 2 player mode. The multiplayer is fun, but a pain in the ass if you're good at mario and everyone else isn't. It's not looking good for ffxi. Rolling blackouts could last a while for them. Unless SE plans to migrate the servers, could be until the end of April. The version update was delayed until May now, possibly because they won't be online soon.

So far I'm watching lots of tv and playing Age of Empires II: Conqueror's Expansion. I recently started watching Human Target and it's working to pass the time.
I'm really hoping to consolidate all my old computer data and maybe even organize all my CD/DVDs. If I get too ambitious I might even re-catalog them all and maybe even try exercising or reading again.
Japan better get stuff fixed fast or a few of us may become dangerously close to starting to have a real life.
