Game being shut down

My laptop is still going to be out for about a week, so I'll either have to install ffxi on an old, junky desktop or stay at work late and play ffxi there.

I'm almost tempted to take an extended break so I can actually get something done, but I don't see that happening. If I really wanted to do said stuff I would have by now.

That being said I have came across some new songs that I've been listening to a lot lately.

Just got a call, the motherboard on my laptop is fried, and they're replacing it for free (applecare warranty was actually worth it). Just installed ffxi on my desktop, torrenting the updates now so I don't have to wait 5 hours to log on, Friday.

Sounds exciting.... I finally started working on more FFXI stuff. Going through my THF gear and seeing what other pieces I'd like to get for DD and WS. Maybe I'll work on my PUP spellcast afterwards.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I totally thought this downtime was perfect to get my taxes done, yet I haven't even touched them either.

Well, I managed to make a PUP spellcast and I think I have everything in it correctly, but a lot of it is from memory since I can't check my current macros. I'll have to change my macros and do some testing when the game gets back up, but I think most of it should be working fine.

I'm hoping to work on some dynamis stuff today/tomorrow and maybe finalize some goals for when I get back in game.

Otherwise for RL goals that I had for the downtime I've done almost none of them. Closest I did was some cleaning and the dishes. I did do a little bit of computer organization, but nothing like I was hoping to get done. Maybe I could try doing a little bit each day before gaming.

So I was trying to clean my game system a bit and ended up wiping a couple system files. I had to reinstall and am stuck because the system can't find the video drivers and it has such a shitty one installed that I can't even use windows update or browse any sites. I did go to the manufacturer's site for drivers only to find that they don't offer any for windows 2k. I really hate old shit. I'm getting really close to just buying a new system and junking this one.

Ew... windows 2k? Don't have xp, or is the system too weak for xp?

I like 2k more than xp and I used to have more control with it. Idk if the system can handle more and I don't know where my disks are so since I refound a 2k disk I just reinstalled it. I'm thinking it might be time to get a new system just so i don't have to deal with the headache of it all. I've been reinstalling for hours now and still haven't started reinstalling FFXI.

xp is a huge improvement on 2k as far as installing and drivers go, system requirements aren't that bad on it. If you're still having problems with 2k I can put an xp disk image up on my server if you want to give that a try.

Meh. I'm mostly done with the drivers and windows installation part. I now just need to reinstall the game and other programs that I used with the game.

I have all the data files on another computer, plus all my install disks are ISO'd so install won't be too horrible.
