Leaving for 2 weeks... or so

So I went to log in today to find out both my content IDs have been cancelled, though I kind of expected it. I was down to my last bit of money before I had to get a job, and lucky me, the job I've been waiting over a year for calls me maybe a week or so before my bank account went negative, lol.

Yeah, so it looks like I may be gone for about two weeks or so. I start tomorrow 7-3:30 M-F. I assume I'll be getting paid not this week but the following week since paychecks are usually held back a pay period. There is, however, a chance that I might borrow enough money to cover FFXI, but honestly, at the current moment, gas, cigarettes, food, and other essentials are quite a bit higher on my priority list, and I'm already borrowing for that shit.

Anyways, I don't know if anyone is going to be able to take over HADelve while I'm gone, but if anyone wants to, by all means.

Muahahaha! The opportune moment for a mutiny! We tried eft and mata with some pickups Saturday. Lost some people we didn't need to. Came close on eft, but failed. We just did simple mata plus trash farms after. Hopefully we stick to that if we have to get pickups.

Was that an Ls Delve? Cow ran it, we had some people confused about whether it was a point run or not. Airlixers went free lot as did gear drops. 1st run failed, second went decently enough.

Yeah, that sounds like a PUG to me.

I really don't have any interest in farming plasm, so until we start making LS nm attempts again, I'll probably be skipping delve.

You do realize that our "ls runs" have basically been really good plasm farms. We are trying to build the group up for boss clears. That involves lots of practice and plasm to upgrade our people. You skipping out just because no maz is only hurting the group.

Practice, yes. Plasm, not so much.

We didn't wipe on raptor when we tried it because we were undergeared, we wiped because we didn't know what we were doing. Nomatter how many mata+farm runs we do, it's never going to help us clear raptor.

We are, right this instant, geared enough for all of the regular NMs and probably even tojil if we eliminated 3 and went straight for him. Doing the same 1-2 NMs and farming doesn't get us any closer to that goal. We need practice on NMs, not the tiny incremental upgrades that airlixir boosts give.

The plasm from those 8000-9000 runs doesn't seem a tiny incremental upgrade. Me no great at mathing, but that is almost four +1 airlixers per run. Unless you threw money at your upgrades, you'd need plasm for upgrades. We may be capable as is for clearing delve in terms of gear, but every little additional upgrade we can give someone makes the group stronger and thus makes clearing easier. Even if your DD is fully upgraded, you can always help other members by bringing that DD to a farm and contributing more than a pick up.

I also see some issues with people working together. I think our team could work on a little more cohesion. It took 3-4 runs of asking mages to call out their dia so cors know when to enhance it. Some of our DD didn't understand in hall they need to push further in when the wall is down and pld grabs the nms. Even then people got lost. Not everyone has a mental image of the layout of the area. I pull and even I am unsure of where two pathways lead deep deep in. Does anyone even know where the boss spawns? Will a leader even know which path will take us to it? I at least see some team issues we could improve on. We need everyone together to solve those.

I don't think you understand, I'm saying that airlixir upgrades in general are a waste of gil and/or time.

A decently geared mnk maths out to around 280 dps on tojil, fully buffed. With a rank 15 weapon this increases to a whopping 295. So about a 5% dps boost. That is pretty much irrelevant in terms of "are we geared enough to kill it". If tojil takes 20 minutes to kill with our current setup, rank 15 gear will have us killing it in 19 minutes.

Farming is a waste of time. Full stop. Even if your SOLE concern is plasm to sell or whatnot, a tojil run yields an order of magnitude more plasm than farming. Plus once we kill tojil, our DDs unlock oatixur, which makes subsequent kills dramatically easier.

Oh I agree we should work towards the boss, but we need maz here to do so. He is gone for a few weeks, so why not farm in the meantime so people can get even stronger?

because it's boring as shit and doesn't yield meaningful upgrades.

We'll only attempt NMs if people show up. Doesn't matter if maz is here or not. If one person says it's not worth the time then another does, then another and suddenly we don't even have enough people to even farm. Simply put if people don't show for whatever reason we'll never do NMs.

Looks like I'll be back sooner than two weeks I think. Found out today that I will be paid on Saturday of this week for this week. Never heard of a company that doesn't hold your check back a week but sounds good to me.

Also I think I may have to move our start time for Delve a bit earlier due to the fact I need to be asleep by 10pm EST on Sunday through Thursday. I'll probably put up a separate thread to discuss the time change. 7pm EST might work ok but Saturday I think will stay the same.
