BCNM40 Steamed Sprouts, Sat. 3pm EST

I'm looking to run some BCNM40 runs on Saturday the 14th starting at 3pm EST. If you are interested please reply with what job(s) you'd be willing to bring that are lvl 40+.

This is a very easy BCNM if everyone does their job. We'll go with the basic setup (safest setup) of BRD, healer x2 (WHM or RDM), DRK, DD x2.

My current plan is to do several runs and split the loot as follows:
- 1 point for participating and not providing an orb.
- 2 points for participating and providing an orb.
So, for each run there's a possibility of 7 points. The total gil after AH fees will be divided by 7 and distributed accordingly. By doing it this way we can do more than 6 runs if we have the interest.

I'm assuming MNK since it doesn't look like you have any other DD job past 40, but it'd be nice if you'd specify like I asked.

I'm not entirely sure I understand exactly what the gil division system will be. I think I get it, but I wanna be sure.

So, let's say we do 2 runs. The first run, we use Stilgar's orb. We get 3.5 M in drops. Stilgar has 2 points, the rest of us have 1 each. So we divide the 3.5M into 7 pieces, and then distribute, 2 parts to Stil, 1 part to the rest of us. 1M for Stil, 500k for the rest.

Then we do a second run, and we use Tal's orb. We get 700k in drops. Tal has 2 points, the rest of us have 1 each. So we divide up the 700k into 7 parts, 2 to Tal, 1 to the rest of us. 200k to Tal. 100k to the rest of us.

In the end, Stil makes 1.1M while Tal makes 700k, and the rest of us 600k. How is that fair to Tal? He has no control over the drops, so why should he get less gil just because we had bad luck on his run?

I understand it is not fair for people not providing and orb to make equal gil to those that do procide an orb, but as I read the plan, it sounds like people will be making more or less gil depending on the luck of the draw, which will work in some people's favor, but on the whole, won't come out fair to everyone. Wouldn't it be easier to just have everyone bring an orb and split it straight up 6 ways? If someone doesn't bring an orb or something, maybe give them like 20% less or something? I dunno, assuming I read it right, I don't like how random the proposed system is.

The way I was thinking was for all runs people were involved in they'd get a share, but that the points weren't per run as such as you listed. In other words, using your example Stil would get 900k as would Tal and the rest of the participants would each get 600k.

2 Orbs = 7 points per orb = 14 points total
1st Orb = 3,500K in drops
2nd Orb = 700K in drops
Total Value of Drops = 4,200K
Value per Point = 300K
Points per Member:
Stil: 600K(2 points)+300K(1 point)=900K
Tal: 300K(1 point)+600K(2 points)=900K
Members 3-6: 300K(1 point)+300K(1 point)=600K


While it would be simplist for everyone to bring an orb so everything could be split equally by 6 the system I propose is so if someone doesn't bring an orb or if we end up doing more than 6 runs that everyone can still get a fair amount of compensation.

Just an update: I will be coming as a WAR. The price to gear both WAR and RNG up was pretty similar, and I can save the WAR set for CoP in the future. So, mark me down for WAR, and see you tomorrow.

Jobs listed in bold are the ones people are coming as. As it is now we need a 6th member. A WHM or RDM would be ideal as we can do this easily enough without a DRK (stunner), but doing it without a healer is a bit more difficult.

If we do get another DD everyone can go /NIN and after the mandies are sleeping the healer would be able to help out curing people up. I'll be trying out an evasion build this time instead of my normal DEF build (as BRD).

If anyone knows of a 6th it'd be great if you could get them before 3PM EST. Meeting place is the BCNM in Giddeus.

Ultimately this was a failure; 6 runs, 3 wipes, crappy drops.

I don't plan to organize this particular BCNM again, but if people want my help for it I might be interested. However, I will not be providing an orb.

Lack of success notwithstanding, this NBCM still did not seem to be worth the trouble, even had we gone 6/6. I seem to remember we used to make like 100k per person per run on this. This run, however, we'll be lucky to make out with 100k total. Sure, it's for 3 wins rather than for 6, but we still got crap for drops.

Anyone know other BCNMs that might be better moneymakers?

Theres a BCNM 20 with mannequin body as a guaranteed drop. Unfortunately, Mannequin gear can only be sold through someone's Bazaar. I would be willing to offer my WHM if anyone wanted to do this.

I do that bcnm often. From my understanding u need a rdm or bst to complete. Mannequin sell very quickly from 450-700k from ur bazaar....

There's 3 different BCNM20's that drop mannequin parts. For the Body one you need 2+ RDMs with daggers. For the Hands you need 2+ DRGs. And for the Head a SMN or 2.

All can be done with BSTs and SMNs as well, but I've not done them with SMNs yet.
