This is my idea for a new LS Event. A team foot race from Sandoria to Bastok. Teams would consist of 3 ppl and one of the ppl would be lvl 1. The job of the lvl 1 is to do the quickest run from Sandy to Bastok without any gear or spells or songs. The other 2 ppls job is to keep them alive by non magical means, no cures or raises. If the lvl 1 dies, they hp to sandy and start over. Depending on how many ppl go, we could start 1/2 in bastok and 1/2 in sandy. We could do it in alliance format so that u could check up on the competition. A prize is yet to be determined but would most likely be monetary.
What do u think? Would u attend? What day of the week should we do it?

hell yeah, let's do it. I thought of a similar thing but for ballista. How many ppl should be in each group? A group of 3 to protect the lvl 1? maybe just pair of ppl? I think a whole pt would be over kill. But, if you need cash to help fund this, I'll pitch in. I'm free all weeknights but thursday 8-10pm, and friday nights are no go. Weekends vary.

I'm in, sounds like alotta fun, Volum would probably attend too. We're free pretty much all weeknights and weekends. Did something similar to this on my old ls, only no help, just your lvl 1 job and race from sandy to jeuno and I won!

Sounds like fun, could we use magic(black magic, blue magic) to kill the mobs in the way of the lvl 1 or no magic period?

I was mainly thinking of no magic or anything to aid the lvl 1 (cures, songs, raise, etc) The other team mates can use whatever they like to protect the runner. We may move to a 2 man team, 1 runner 1 protector. Depends on the amount of ppl that show up.

Actually, just a single level 1 running from San d'Oria to Bastok wouldn't be hard. Instead of teams with escorts you could just have it be a free-for-all of level 1's running around. Then you wouldn't have to worry about how many people show up, even with just a few you could still have the race. I know that route pretty well, it might actually be too easy with an escort given that this would be a race.
I ran my level 1 mule from Windurst to Jeuno without an escort, and zones like Meriphataud Mts. and Sauromague Campaign have a lot more aggressive mobs on the paths than are on the paths between San d'Oria and Bastok. When I did do it with an escort, I only caught aggro and died once. So, escorts might make it too easy.
There are some pretty dangerous zones really close to Bastok that would be fairly difficult for level 1's to race through. Like Bastok to Rabao, or a roundtrip from Bastok through Palborough Mines. A similar level 1 event I've heard of was "Hide the Sausage." Have 1 higher-level person hiding in a dangerous zone (high enough to not get any aggro) with a Galkan Sausage in their bazaar. First level 1 person to buy the sausage wins.

The only problem i see would be a lvl 75 could train pretty much a whole zone depending on job which makes it less of a race...
Hide the Sauage WTF! LOL... interesting...

The goal of the higher lvl is to keep their lvl 1 alive and to win the race. If they train the whole zone, other teams would benefit, need to use a bit of strategy. We can do a straight lvl 1 race if thats what people want but realize how much longer that would take. The escorted run was proposed to streamline the time it would take and to maximize the amount of people that could go.

We need to decide on a date for this event. I was thinking either the weekend of Feb 24-25 or of March 3-4.
Which do u think would be best?
