Ikonic's Guide to Woodworking (lvl 0-60)
Woodworking is a great craft to get into where you can start making gil at lvl 0. If you go logging for some of your logs you can make even more profit.
Below is a guide that I found on one of the many FFXI forums (I'd give credit, but I didn't save the link.) If you follow this list you can get to lvl 59 woodworking. I made a few variations in my own crafting, some for the better, some for the worse. Below the first list is some alternatives that I used. Try to craft on days where it shows a G (and S, if possible).
Also, following this graphic and facing the direction of the outer ring seems to increase your skillups as well.

Not every arrow is profitable to make. For instance, bone arrows are found cheaper at a vendor. Take the time to do some research and find out what is and is not profitable before dumping loads of gil into it.
Arrows are great to synth for skill because people will always be using them. Anything that people use and need to replenish is a good source of income. Keep this in mind.
Keep an eye out for other items that you can synth. This is the guide that I used, however I did not have any other craft lvl'd past 8 so I was unable to synth some items that may have been more effective (both cost and skill -wise).
Shop around. Some items you need for synthing can be found cheaper from a vendor or regional merchant. Other items you may be able to have a friend synth for you cheaper than you can find elsewhere.
Use advanced synth support for any item that is over 4 lvls above your current synthing lvl. Four (4) lvls seemed about the perfect lvl to get skillups and have minimal failures.
Consider moving the product in other cities than your own. For instance, Silver Arrows sell very well in Jeuno as a stack of quivers.
Consider using the products for yourself. When lvl'ing THF or RNG (or another job that can use arrows) consider making your own ammo. Often times it can be cheaper than buying them and depending on the time you may also make skillups while lvl'ing.
