my tales as a ninja in ffxi

I been wanting to write a thread about ninja for a while just wanted to have more time trying stuff out. well i started lvling ninja on rastan and got to 67 then took over zueshomes ninja at 75. ninja is a very complete job in all areas its great for soloing and farming. in parties its nice cuz u can dd and tank at same time. also u can have 2 ninjas in a party without loosing much cuz they dd well afetr u get balde:jin to were pld cant have 2 in party. i think the big mis understanding about ninja is how players bag about them for losing hate and what not. ive said this before as ninja u only get provoke thats it no other hate generating ja unlike pld that gets cures and flash and provoke so therefore as a dd u must NOTTTTTT ws at begining of fight then say im tanking this nin sucks seriously be smart about that. personally ive never had issues with hate if dd are smart and dont ws at begining. pld an nin are great tanks i beleive in there on way with pld u have a meat sheild that takes dmg well and can cure himself with ninja u have a tank that will not get hit as much and doesnt need as much attention as pld for cures, but when a ninja gets hit they need quick heals from mages. also haste is a very important part of ninja for utsu recast nothing pisses me off more than when a mage hastes a dd before ninja thats just wacked in my mind the dd will just give the damn mob more tp wtf lol ive played both parts of dd and tank and the most notable thing i notice is dd dont understand hpw a party teamwork goes if ur geting hit and wasting mp from mage whats the point then ah then the dd says well i can do 1k ws im the shit well ur a dead shit then cuz ur tanking and we all know who will last longer in battle um the tank as far as hnm tanking i think ninja with right setup is great just as good as pld trying out nin/drk has been very amazing to say the least if i have refresh and haste its awesome great hate control and dmg mitigation but then again there isnt things a ninja can tank for shit if the mobs casts agas left and right or attack fast as shit theres no chance thats were pld come in they can survive longer. now i hope square gives ninja a new hate spell or at least jubaku ni seems they dont wanna help ninja anymore like they have pld and we can just forget about utsusemi: san to be added that will make the job broken really ive said they should make utsu ni lvl 38 that way ninja has its own spell to call its own if u notice for almost all endgame stuff either /thf or /nin are most common sj its just insane lol but then again if u take utsu ni away from pld that would make pld weak in hnm tanking cuz /war on hnm as we know is to rough to much dmg taken for mages to have enough mana for. as far as gil for the job its one of the most xpensive jobs of all u need nice gear for ninja but also the 4 best peices of gear u get are free if u have help example weapon seju is best katana when broken turban is insane awesome swift belt wow and byakko hadaite are the best pants in game for dd 15dex 5%haste thats insane but other stuff is alot like tools and other gear and ppl say well u dont use elemental whell after u get jin i say that false i use all my enfeebles except that gimp poison but i use ele wheel alot for landing enfeebles like hojo if u cast raiton beleive me u wil land hojo like 90% of the time do some test i know now as far as race i think galka and elvan have nice traits for ninja job galka get really high hp which is best thing to have for tanking also highest vitality the elvan come second but have high str for ws as for combat skills having high evasion and parrying is amazing for ninja evasion speaks for itself but parrying omg its so amazing u dont know how many times it procs and saves ur ass or a shadow its the hardest thing to raise but its worth it mines 232 right now caps at 269 wtf but im getting there merit wise i believe most important are katana,evasion,spell interuption rate, crit, hp, and parrying merits trust me now for the stage 2 merits i maxed out ninja tool expertise to 15% it kicks in alot and u save gil hehe also i cant say enough for subtle blow its the best for soling and tanking example: me and a rdm and mnk were killing ph for despot they hardly ws at all makes for nice time and the best example, me hung and crumb took on overlord bagodek was long ass fight but we did it and me and hung just meleeing he hardly had tp to spam his shit which is awesome compared to having dd giving him insane tp. Job ability: now being able to be the only job that can sub anything and keep utsu is awesome subbing /pld for farming is tits or subbing /drk for hnms or imma try /rdm for spaming dispel great hate tool then one trick i use and use often is the utsu ni cancel trick which is great and needs great timing trust me u need it cuz u cant always depend on utsu ni recast theres alot of things i wanna write but this shit is like anovel now so ill end now but if u need answers for ninja job just ask me trust me ive tried alot of things but im still learning thank you and good luck on fellow ninja new comers and one thing of advice for u new ninja newcomers if ur in a party and the dd are being stupid with ws at start or just plain spaming shit just let them die dont voke just let them die a few times theyll learn the hard way and if they say u suck well just laught man cuz u didnt loose the xp they did for being dickheads trut me its fun hehe take care all

Rastan gets award for longest run on sentence. Previous recipients of this prestigious award were Shash and Dentay, who in my opinion, just got owned. What's this Utsu:Ni cancel trick you speak of? You mean cancelling it while casting Ichi just before ichi casts?? as ichi will not overwrite Ni?

yeah raizo to truely be blink tank ur gunna need to cast utsu ichi while ni is on but u have to cancel utsu ni at about 50% or u wont get ichi effect and ur fucked lol what i do is count 3 shadows on utsu ni then check timers if its rdy i dont worry if its like 5 sec still no worries but if more time then i start casting utsu ichi and about 50% if mob takes a shodow im ok cuz i have none left but if he misses then i cancel ni to get ichi up this is a muct thats y i have a macro for utsu ichi to inform ppl that im casting utsu ichi which is slower so if a whm flashes or blm stun or whatnot ill have np with getting shdows up so when ur in a party have a macro for ichi hopefully mages or dd wise up and help u lol crumb and icestorm are swesome at this when i go party with them

Damn rast. lol Thats a big block haha. I agree with you though. Nin is one of the most versatile jobs in the game. I also agree subblow is 1 of the most important merits you can cap on nin if you solo a lot. With Rajas and cap merits you can WS up to 2x per ws of mob O.o thats a lot of dmg lol (If you have ws set up to increase Blade: jin dmg) ex. If you hit 20x to get 100% tp for avg dmg of 60 that is 1200 dmg, then you can ws for about 1k dmg (more or less depending on gear) then 2200x2= 4400 dmg! That is usually most if not all HP of Mobs that you normally solo lol. So you can see dmg adds up quick. Almost all gear nin gets Modifies something. Katana: 6% crit, body:10 acc (acc is vary important to keep dmg flowing steady) back: evas or if you have boxer's 10 evas skill 10 parry skill 10 guard skill, belt: 4% haste 3 acc or 5 str 5 dex 5 vit. Anyways I think you all get the point. lol Nin can be a sick job just need little help a lots of gils for gear/tools. (Tools can break you if your just getting into nin)
Something I don't like about nin is all the gear you have to tote. I have 4 sets of gear WS, Solo/evas, Enmity and PT gear. That is a killer on your inven lol. Well I have typed enough lol Just remember Elvaan>Galka! lol jp take care

lol i know i know i shouldve done the proper .?! but eh thats why its my tales lol imma miss you shash and damn val how u been bro? hows work? hope all is well for you bro miss ya too. on a note from shashs take yeah ninja is alot of gil especially if its ur first job to 75 but if u have enough gil for tools and scrolls you can take it pretty far with just AF gear eating sushi but i really recommend geting a scorpion harness at least it makes a huge diff for all things and ull always need to use it. whats cool is u can quest ur ichi spells and also farm ur ni spells except utsu ni which u can do a pcc ks run its a high drop rate also im currently working on merits for the elemental san spells ill let u know how good hey are take care all
