Did you ever want to know more about Chi Blast, or about it at all? Well, here's some info for ya, with pictures. What stats most affect Chi Blast? MND is the most important stat. The more MND you have the more likely your Chi Blast will be of higher DMG. Also, the more you boost (up to 11 times) the higher the DMG Chi Blast will be. During HMN fights MNKs often load up on MND gear and go as MNK/WHM. It is debated if STR or ATT affect Chi Blast. Time for some pictures. Here's me doing Chi Blast on a poor unsuspecting Fly.     |

Some ppl said Chi Blast will never miss. I am not sure it is correct but this ability is quite useful ;D Last few weeks when fighting the ShadowLord at 5-2, I was teamed up with mnk68, blm4x, drk59, whm50 & mnk54(me). (yes, just 5 at the party). Once started, the mnk and I used 100 fists and we can killed nearly 75% of ShadowLord's hp. Suddenly, I found my dmg became "0". I felt nervous and stupidly used Raging Fist but it was still "0" !!! (1st time I felt frustrated on Raging Fists ...) Then the mnk said it used "Invincible" and shouted to the blm and drk to nuke it!! When I saw the word "nuke", I stopped attack and "boost". Surely, I also nuke it with Chi Blast and it could land dmg to ShadowLord this time. Another mnk also did the same thing but surely he could give out much more damage than mine. With his Chi Blast, we KO the ShadowLord at first round...... (I regreted that I haven't read thru Val's article on fighting the Shadow Lord...) The 2nd time is last Saturday when I was lvling in Boyahda Tree. We were at the last round of the chain. The crab was nearly died but it used Matellic Body. Surely dmg became "0". At that time, the blm was running out of mp, the brd was casting Balled, the rng was missed his shot, the pld and I were "0" dmg. ( The pld was mad coz he kept saying mnk cannot kill crab before we moved to kill spider from crab......  ) When seeing "0" dmg, I recalled "Chi Blast" again. Surely this time, I KO the crab Some ppl also said Chi Blast is useful when fight the sky, but I have no idea about that ......  |

In order to see the colors like that you have to not be engaged with the mob.
It is true that Chi Blast will never miss, but it can be resisted just like magic.
Some of the gods have incredible defense or evasion. For these mobs MNK is used for Chi Blast alone. Other gods are susceptible to melee dmg and MNKs will be allowed to fight them.
