Sure, once you get SA at 15, this job actually becomes fun, but before then, i didn't mind chillin in dangruf wadi till lvl 13. Valkurm to 15 was quick, and now i'm a money makin machine! I recomend everyone have a THF at least to 15, your pocketbook with thank you ^^

I've been lvling THF lately due to the riseing financial need of my WAR (35k for a new great axe......) it hasnt been to bad. I've been takeing the opertunity to be a lower lvl again to farm stuff for repetable Sandy quests and raise my fame.

I'd have to say leveling my THF to level 15 was actually a really big pain in the butt. However, I also did it all solo (I was in Windy, didn't feel like going all the way to Valkurm). Also, I did it in one fell swoop, not gradually.
I would recommend leveling low level jobs near your hometown. It will be much more convenient b/c it will be ten times easier to keep Signet on, even if it won't last as long.

I thought soloing up to 15 was kind of a pain, & I agree with val about staying near town, I did about 10-15 in the horotoro ruins right by the thief's hideout. Skeletons, goblins, bats and a balloon all about just the right level, and not many people down there competing for them made it easy to time a circle where as soon as i killed the last one the first one was spawning again. About the only people that came around were ppl looking for the hideout and the occasional hi-lvl farmer. (the farmers were frustrating but they didn't usually stay too long) Not only did that let me solo, but being close to town i could run back and unload when my pockets got full. kind of a farming/lvling combo two birds with one stone. All those crystals/bone chips and such added up after a while for a nice lil equipment fund. (which i promptly spent to be ass-flat broke again)

Lvling THF to 15 is slow, aggonizing and crappy. ive been at lvl 8 for 2 days now, almost to 9 now, thx to rockra again, and i am finding it as time consuming as lvling blm. u can really only fight d/c and ep's, cause even matchs murder u even with the best armor and weapon, and sometimes with the 2 hr. also, linking mobs is such a biatch. once again id like to point out rockra cause he knows what im talking bout, however, i suppose if i just shuddup and do it, i could lvl, plus the rewards for lvl 15 are cool, such as SA and TH, which will help a whole hell of alot for farming liz for skins idk, i just want lvl 10 right now so i can pty, and hopefully it doesnt take so long. Leveling my THF to 12 wasnt so bad as I thought it was gonna be...I got my RNG to 7 first so I could take THF to 15 for TH and then NEVER have to play it again...I decided to go to La Theine at level 7 and fight Rock Eaters around the Lake that checked all as T. I found by only shooting arrows with my THF/RNG I could very easily dispose of them and with Widescan could usually locate another fairly quickly. I was able to XP chain solo and sometimes even got the chain up to #3 and around 180 xp. However doing this from lvl 7-12 has spoiled me becasue now they all con as EP (or a rare DC) and it is extremely hard for me to get an invite as a pre 15 THF in Valkrum and especially since im Taru. I have gotten a couple invites and feel totally useless as Im hitting the mob for very little damage with my dagger or missing completely with my arrows >.< I feel as If I will be lvl 12 THF for quite awhile...

I solo'd thf to 12 or so and then solo'd in ltp while having my seek up. Eventually someone sent me an invite.
A few tips for getting and keeping a pt from 12-15+ as a thf: - advertise your stats and food - know the terrain and how to pull - know about what skillchains you can use - know what mobs to pull and be a good puller - sub war (it was the best sub for what jobs i had at the time, better than mnk sub, plus you can backup [or in my case, be the main] tank) - use a dagger or a sword, carry both if you can, to help with possible skill chains - be polite and build a good rep. (these will help you later on as well, and in other jobs)

My thf is currently at 11 and i will probaly not get 15 anytime soon, b/c i'm lazy, and all i like to do is solo, for some reason i really dislike most partys, thats why when i get my whm to 30 i think i might unlock bst to see how it is.

I was able to get my THF to 15 without any trouble. though it did take a week, at which time i would finish work, play for up to 2 hours using an Empress Band. It would still be up the next morning when I get home from work and the timer is set to use as soon as it is off.
Thanks to Smythe, I have learned to use Konschtat highlands for Worm alley in the west to go from lvl 10-13, and it goes quickly with the band on. Just for a ding... Level 15-19 in one night, only had 1200 tnl, so ding... 20 thf now
