As you may or may not know, the final non-Relic Weapon Skill for Samurai is Tachi: Kasha. Unlike other weapon skills, which are earned by merely achieving a certain skill level, in order to get the final non-Relic Weapon Skill, you must complete a quest. I will cover the Samurai quest here, but a lot of what I say can be applied to other weapons as well.
In order to do this quest, you must have a Great Katana skill of 250 or higher, and be level 71. Once you meet these requirements, head out to Norg and talk to Jaucribaix (your old SAM buddy, of course). He will give you a Tachi of Trials and some mumbo-jumbo about mastering your skill or whatever.
In order to continue to the next part of this quest, you must 'break' your Tachi of Trials. The weapon has a Latent Effect on it, and once it is broken, this Latent Effect will disappear. In order to 'break' the weapon, you must accrue 300 points with it. You earn points by using Weapon Skills and performing Skillchains on mobs that are Easy Prey or harder. The point values are as follows:
1 Point: Solo Weapon Skill (no skillchain)
2 Points: Ending a Level One Skillchain
3 Points: Ending a Level Two Skillchain
5 Points: Ending a Level Three Skillchain
In order to accrue points as quickly as possible, I recommend finding a high level friend or two that you can perform Darkness skillchains with. This will probably be much safer and go much faster. A MNK makes an excellent partner for this, as Asuran Fists >>> Tachi: Gekko will make Darkness and give you 5 points a pop. Ikonic was kind enough to help me break my Tachi and on the Lesser Colibris and Aht Urghan Attercops in Bhaflau Thickets. We broke it in well under 2 hours. There may actually be better mobs to do it on than those, but they got the job done. Thanks again Ik, you saved me about 8 hours of soloing Beetles.
Once you have broken your Tachi of Trials (you will know it is broken because you will no longer have the boosts of it), head back to Norg and talk to Jaucribaix again. He will give you a key item: Map to the Annals of Truth. You need to gather a party that will be able to kill Ketterkaefer, a Beetle Notorious Monster. You need to go find a ? ? ? in Kuftal Tunnel (at L-7, consult www.ffxi-atlas.com if you need further clarification). I recommend clearing our the Raptor mob by the ? ? ? just to be safe. Examining the ? ? ? will pop Ketterkaefer. Once you have killed him, examine the ? ? ? to receive the Key Item: Annals of Truth. Return to Norg AGAIN and talk to Jaucribaix one last time to earn Tachi: Kasha.

We took him out quite easily, and then proceeded to do the Decimation (Axe) WSNM too. A lot of fun.
