Question about Lv70 SAM JSE. Recently my SAM is accidentally dinged 70. Since no preparation was really made, now I encountered question about the SAM Lv70 JSE? Current setup: Head: Optical Hat (TP) / Sipahi turabn (WS) Body: Hauby, can swap Shura Togi(73) or Osode(75) Hand: O. Kote (TP) / Alk. Bracelets (WS) Legs: Royal Knight's breeches, can swap Byakko's Haidate(75) Feets: Marine F Boots (One of the reason why I play sam is I can share the gears from my mnk. ) With Val's advice, Hauby is handy for SAM. Now with my above setup, any piece of SAM Lv70 JSE I should consider to save money to buy? thank you~ Nooby SAM lol Oh. Since I'm really very casual to play my SAM, I didn't even do any AF quests. 0/5 lolol And don't feel like to get any SAM Relic coz I don't want to be "Inventory-1" ._.

Sad that your "casual" SAM has better equips than my 3 year-old SAM But, anyways, as for gear... I use(d) 3 pieces of the Hachiman level 70 JSE. At level 70... Head: Optical Hat (TP) / Hachiman Jinpachi (WS) I use Wyvern Helm for WS now @ 75. Body: Haubergeon (TP) / Hachiman Domaru (WS) This isn't terribly important, but the extra 3 STR is nice. You will want to swap in Osode at 75 I think. Hands: Hachiman Kote (TP) / Enkelados's Bracelets (WS) Ochiudo's Kote are better than Hachiman, and obviously your Alky's make everyone drool. Your equips are perfect here, unless you can get Bandomusha Kote. Legs: Myochin Haidate (both) I use the AF Leg piece for the +3 STR full-time, but RK Breeches are just fine, and Byakko's at 75 are nice. Feet: Rutter Sabatons (both) B/c I am Elvaan, I can't use the Marine Boots, but every Hume SAM I know loves them, so you don't need to change anything there. Basically, there is nothing you need to do with your gear, it is in fact better than mine o.O

Thanks, our old SAM~ ^^ Actually most gears are shared from my mnk. ^^; Head: I will get a Wyvern Helm ready in my mule. "Inventory-1" ; ; Body: Haubergeon (TP) / Hachiman Domaru (WS) I just buy this RSE body coz it is not expensive and I want to see the outfit of this SAM body. XD Oh. How about the weapon skill accuracy? I found I missed Gekko quite often if /war and not loading accuracy gears... or else the trade-off is low STR and weak dmg ; ; Hands: Hachiman Kote (TP) / Enkelados's Bracelets (WS) I nearly got the Bandomusha Kote long time ago but the thf in my PT accidentally {Call for Help} -_- Legs: Myochin Haidate (both) Oops. Lazy to do the AF... XD I want to see it's outfit and found that JSE body doesn't match with R.K Breeches... So I buy this SAM's stylish pants to match the JSE Body. XD Feet: Rutter Sabatons (both) <3 Marine F Boots. ^^ Oh~ think of other questions. GKT: Hagun is over 2m and I think I won't spend on it. XD Instead I'm gonna use the Lv73 cheap one which has latent effect if TP<100%, then dmg=XX. (forget the exact dmg... lol) The Price is really too low, why? Is it a bad GKT? Spear: Did you bother to skill up spear? Last day, I tried to farm BS/KS outside whitegate with Corse(sp) and just got spear skills to 186. Need to get higher for making SC with different DDs? Parrying: So difficult to skill up ; ; I have 115 but mainly from RDM soloing long time ago. need to bother parrying skills? Seign + 3rd eye: I was con to tank by a PT leader one day at lv65. rng, blu, sam, rdm, smn, whm. Seign + 3rd eye is so funny but hard to predict how many hits it can absorb. Any idea? So annoying if it wore off in 1-2 hits and recast is still 0:20 sec ._.

As far as the Hagun is concerned, you will pretty much be expected to have it at 72. However, I personally do not see what makes it so great. I have an Onimaru (the level 73 GKT that is much cheaper, and has Latent Effect DMG: 83. It also has I think Attack +18 when your TP is below 100, and maybe an accuracy bonus then as well.) As I understand it, the Hagun essentially grants a 100 TP bonus, meaning if you use a WS at 150 TP with the Hagun, it will seem as if you had 250 TP instead of 150 TP. I have used both in XP, and I have found the Hagun to give better WS damage, but the Onimaru to do much more damage with regular hits. I have never parsed them, and everyone insists Hagun is the best, but it seems to me the DoT should certainly be comparable. So, I think you could probably get away without using a Hagun. Let me put it this way, the Hagun is like 2,000,000 and the Onimaru is like 10,000. The Hagun is not even 2x as good as the Onimaru, let alone 200x better Polearm: I haven't bothered to level polearm lately. I used to keep it capped up through about level 45, but then, I just stopped. It is always nice to have the option I suppose, but I have NEVER been asked to use Polearm as a SAM in xp. Plus, at level 70, your GKT skill caps at 251, and your Polearm skill caps at 223. Thats a lot of Attack and Accuracy to sacrifice. So, if you can get it capped, that's great, but it is not really a big deal in my opinion. Parrying: Mine is like 105 or so, and obviously it would be nice to have high Parrying skill, but it's not the end of the world if you don't. There really aren't too many great ways to level up your parrying skill, so I just let me level naturally over the course of my playing. Seigan and Third Eye: I have yet to try tanking using this method. I play SAM to DD, so I generally don't ever bother with Seigan, I stick to Hasso. As for predicting how many hits it will absorb, I don't think there is any good way to do so. I have seen screenshots of it absorbing 6 hits in a row in Dynamis, and I have had it wear off after 1 hit against Too Weak mobs 60 levels below me. I think the greatest use of Seigan is not to main tank, but instead to use as a backup in emergencies or to help the mages out when you pull too much hate.

Seigan and Third Eye: I have used this in tanking, this should only be used if there is no other option. It is effective but its not great. It is possible to do more than 6 hits i pressume, its just highly unlikely.
I have also used this in holding off a link. Say for example the puller has claimed a monster and as he/she was returning to camp he/she found that they had 2 monsters on their tail. This has proven to be effective in these sorts of cases, but wont work if there is no back-up healer or refresh supply. Other wise if the healer isn't at full MP it can be a handful. Still very useful as a back up tank/voke. But 3 monsters is a killer, or at least a suicide task for the SAM...
