::: - AF3 - :::
Quest Name: Knight Stalker
Starting area: Chateau d’Oraguille
Quest Giver: Rahal
Reward: Drachen Armet RARE/EXCLUSIVE LV 60 DRG - DEF: 16 HP: +12 MND +5 VS LIGHTING: +10 WYVERN’S USES BREATHS MORE EFFECTIVELY
Once again you need to make sure your AF1 and AF2 and your AF gauntlets quest are completed. To start this quest, talk to Rahal, located at the Royal Knights’ Quarters within Chateau d’Oraguille, you will then get a cut scene. ATTENTION: IN REGARDS TO AF-3 (HELM): After talking to Rahal, make sure you go to “Brugaire Consitorium”. To talk to him, you must talk to Cerulain right after talking to Rahal to be able to open the coffer and get the key item. == After this go to Kuftal Tunnel and obtain the Kuftal Coffer Key from Robber Crabs while leveling there (around level 52 to 56). Upon obtaining key, locate the coffer and open it to receive the key item “Challenge to the Royal Knights”. Take this back to Rahal, he will then tell you he can’t talk about the contents of that letter and sends you Balasiel(NPC for Paladin Quest), located at F-7 in Southern d’Oria in the Watchdog Alley area. Talking to him will trigger a cut scene. After the cut scene, you’re all set for the NM fight that takes place in the Temple of Uggalepih, in South East Yhoator Jungle Once inside the Temple follow the path until get to like a T-intersection (where you can only go either left or right), go left then down the hall and follow the path up until reach a split path with a square in the middle, go right and open the gate on the right hand side, this is the room to fight the two Shadow NM’s. You can either attempt to canst Invisible on everybody and make it to this room or just fight everything on the way there. I’d recommend you option 2 because it’s hard to keep everybody Invisible and chances are somebody will get aggro from either casting or wearing off, plus it’s a good idea to build some TP in the way there to Start the first fight with a nice skillchain, preferably Fusion (Fire and Light based). However, be weary of tonberries’ special attack Throat Slice, it caused 1000+ damage on me, it almost killed me, lucky me I had full hp. Next comes the NM Shadows fight. This is a very tactical fight, not very hard if you have a well balanced party, just have to be careful. There will be two ?? in this room, one on the floor and one up in a vine in the wall, a dragoon needs to examine the one in the floor (ignore the one in the wall), however, your wyvern MUST be out, so I’d advise you not to summon your wyvern until you get to the room in case you die in the way going there and lose your 2-Hour ability. First things first, clear the room from all tonberries, wasps and dolls (Crawlers don’t aggro so don’t bother killing them). Make sure you have at least 2 tanks and least one other job with pet (other than dragoon), like a Summoner or a Beastmaster. Upon examining the ?? two shadows, Cleuvarion M Resoaix , will appear and start attacking the dragoon that examined it, you have to be quick and use Super Jump as soon as possible, or you’ll die. Have one tank provoke one shadow and have a Summoner or Beastmaster distract the other with a pet, if this fails have the other tank provoke the second shadow, in either case move the second shadow away from the first one because they use Dimensional death and if they both use it at the same time, your whole alliance may go down to eat dirt. Have everybody else take on one Shadow at a time ONLY. If the distraction works have the other tank standing by next to it, again far away from the first one. If the pet dies or loses hate have the second tank provoke it and have 3-4 melees support the second fight. The key part to this is having the two shadows apart from each other. It is said that it’s possible to sleep one Shadow with Elemental Seal + Sleep(ga) II, but I’d recommend you rather saving that for a Magic Burst + Fire since Shadows are weak against Light (Cure) and Fire, for which your Melees hopefully saved their TP when killing the mobs in the way there. Recommended party composition: Alliance of a minimum of 10-12 level 55-60+, 2 tanks (must be 60+), a job with pet (SMN or BST), BLM for Magic Burst and Warp 2. Healers and melees within range 55-60+ After the fight have the dragoon(s) examine the ?? again for a long, most excellent cut scene. You may want to turn your filters on so you don’t misse the plot of the cut scene or ask your alliance to remain silent. After the cut scene you get your Drachen Armet. C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ! ! ! You have completed the last part of your Artifact Armor and may now feel like a real Dragoon. ======================================== GOOD LUCK ALL MY FELLOW DRAGOONS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
