The Raven Sycthe isnt very hard to do. I'll list out whatcha need and in the order.
1. Goto bastok and into metalworks. Talk to the assistant in Cid's lab (I think its Raibaht...)
2. After the sceen go downstairs and into the darksteel forgery and talk with Mighty Fists (the Galaka)
3. He'll send you to goto the library in windy and talk with Cochal-Monchal (in F-8 or the Optistery in Windy Waters). He tells you to slay Vaa the Erudite in Giddeus.
4. Goto Giddeus in (H-14) and trade a Yagudo Cherry to the ??? and Vaa the Erudite will spawn. I fought it with a lvl 65 Pld and a 63 Rdm. Since the mob is a Blm the Rdm silenced it and it was an easy fight from there.
5. After it is dead re-check the ??? and you will obtain the book Raibaht is looking for. Go back to Bastok and talk to him and he'll give you your Raven Sycthe.
The quest was pretty easy for me. Just buy a cherry and your all set. Hope this helps in ur evil path as a dark knight.
