The run would have been much longer had I been too cheap to shell out 700 of my hard earned gil to the greedy chocobo renter. But alas, laziness prevailed and i purchased a bird from the money hungry mithra.
As the pink hue of Buburimu came into view, my comrade Stargasior asked me if I would like to join him on an excursion to the tropical paradise that is Babiki Bay. A gladly accepted his offer and soon saw the tall, dashing Elvaan decked out from head to toe the that bright red garb that just screams "I can solo a decent challenge!"
The cool water penitrated my sollerets, but I knew the stainless steal would rust (sandoria has always made fine armor for their royal squires) and the sand was firm but soft under my metal clad feet. Through a small cave we trotted, scoffing at the puny pugils that swam by.
And then, there is was, the small secluded Bay of Babiki. Four lone mithra stood scattered, offering advice on fishing and sight seeing. On cute one (I think she may have had a thing for Star) offered us some cheap tickets for a scenic boat ride. Who can pass that up (plus she wrote her number on Star's ticket)?
As the manaclipper sailed up to the dock, the sun glistened off the breeze-rippled water. So nice it was to be away from the fridged air of Delkfutts tower where those gigas handed me money.
Star said if i didn't have my ticket with me when the boat left, they would kill me off!!! but it was a slip of the tongue, he meant 'kick' me off. with a sigh of relief, i handed the mithra my ticket and the small flat boat departed from the shore.
A loop around Dhalmel rock was the first trip, rather calm and relaxing. We circled the tall stoney pillars of the island, wondering if anyone, Elvaan, Galka, or even Taru, had set foot up on the shores on the rocky recess of these coves.
but the ride was a short one, and we were soon back at the docks with those cute little kitty girls. But wait!! Buy an other ticket and see something new! and that we did.
To a small nearly deserted island the manaclipper took us this time. Bright sun pounded down on us, but the cool sea breeze kept us from breaking a sweat. Large crustatians with shells a mile thick lined the beaches. Monkeys hoped around from trees, and Star and I, for some weird reason, were reminded of Qwenavier.
After making about half way around the island, we found a weird floating Octopus with a shark attatched to its head. So of course, we killed the Kraken. Good thing Star was along with me, as all these creatures seemed just a tad more than I could handle on my own.
In the least romantic way it could be done, Star and I stood and watched the sunset between the cliffs of the alcove. As the firey ball dipped into the ocean, we swore we could hear a slight sizzle.
The wait for the boat ride home was a long one, but I worked on my Great Sword skills on those hard shelled creature while Star fished off the dock and made sure i didn't croak. Twas a lovely evening and I can't wait to get my film developed! Picture time soon!
Edit: I can edit my own damn post if i want!!!
