Well, I am trying to organize a scavenger hunt. The sackholders have talked about a few ideas, now I am asking for input from the rest of you.
The general idea is that there will be 4 to 5 sackholders positioned in an area. For instance West Ronfaure.
There will be a base pot and possibly a 100 to 200 gil entry fee. This is to help build the pot up.
Items will be given to participants with instructions telling them with whom to trade the items.
You must then, when everyone is ready, go and find the 4 or 5 sack holders and trade the item to them. They in turn will give you another item. You will not have any knowledge of the item you will receive, if you try to trade to the wrong person you will get a trade cancelled message. Make sure you take notes.
The first person to find all the sackholders and trade the appropriate items and get back to the start point wins.
There are a couple of restrictions and notes.
First: No RNGs, BSTs, or THFs can enter. This is because they have wide-scan and flee. Unfair advantages. Second: We have some sackholders that would be willing to help out the lower level people if they get aggro from mobs.
In closing, tell me what you think; if something should be added, changed, or what day and time you would like to see this happen. I will try to put it together when I receive more input.

I love this idea Timm, great bonding opporunity. I'd love to be a part of it, so if you can schedule it for a weekend, i'll go home that weekend so i can play. I'd be more than willing to be one of the people to trade items to or an escort.

I would be more than happy to be either a trader or a guide.
Also, if we can get enough people in on it, say 15-20, I've got 5k that I'm willing to put in the pot.

I am in I will be a trader. I as well have [glow=yellow,2,300]5000 gil[/glow] that I could part with. If its on the week end it would have to be in the afternoon or sunday for me to make it. As I'm busy in the evenings fri, and sat.

I think Ronfaure would be the best location to have it. Although because we are a very San d'Orian linkshell, it might add a degree of difficulty to the hunt to host it elsewhere. That might however give an unfair advantage to a few people rather than a majority.

Count me in. I'll be whatever you need me to be(trader or an escort).

I say we host it in Valkurm Dunes and all the players have to be lvl 1 jobs with no help. All the traders can be whatever lvl (as to avoid aggro). This would make it more difficult and exciting. Imagine having to get to the secret beach.... ok, so maybe not that far out..... but still.

it might take hours just to get a bunch of lvl 1's out to valkurm!! but i like the idea actually, i think that would make it more fun... though you'd have to set HP in selby so if you did die, you could get right back in...then maybe have all the escorts run people back to sandy to change out of the job. oooo i hope i can be a part of this.

Hmm, Valkurm. This is an interesting idea but are we not making this more complicated? We have to think of time as well. We have a hard enough time showing up on time for eco-war. We have to think that it will take about an hour for every one to get on, than if we have to escourt the lvl 1's to Valkurm and to selby for HP this seems like a lot of time and effort. I like the idea but don't think its feasible. We should have it in east and west ron. They are both conected in two places, plus with the two areas we could have it set up that you have to trade and get the certain items for one area b4 you can leave say east ron to go to west ron. This way we could annouce "so and so, has collected all the items for east ron and is in first place heading into west ron!!" kinda make it more of a race as well and more exciting. Of course this is just an idea, as it looks like we are brain storming.

why just hold the areas to East and West Ronfare? Why not station a SH in North, South and Port Sandy as well. They could be just "somewhere" in that area and it was up to the person to discover their location. Just a thought.

oooo i like that last idea too i'd be happy to be in North Sandy, it's where i am anyway...though im not sure if the lag would prevent me from trading, sometimes it prevents me from accessing my DB...so i dunno.

Ok, thanks for the ideas. I will try to set it up for the weekend. I will, also, set a time where everyone can join. I will try for a time on the first or second weekend of November. Ik's got the 23rd and Halloween is after that. I may just try one area first and see how it goes. If it works ok and everyone is interested we can try to have it monthly. Perhaps, with different areas and/or with parties, etc... I don't want to use areas within the cities, because it makes it more of a challenge to avoid mobs and someone could use the Auction Houses. (Not that I don't trust anyone ) Thanks and keep your eyes open.
